Food is great and the service is super friendly! Just be sure to bring cash or be ready to pay with Venmo. The BBQ is fantastic–moist, flavorful, and cooked …

It is hands down the best barbecue i’ve ever had. Its worth the walk from 7 eleven for truckers to have some good home cooked food instead of the door dash fast foods! Me and my daughter got the baked potatoe with pork and brisket! Seriously dont go to McDonald’s and taco bell come down here and get some of the goods. Order it to go if you have to but come in and get some country home bbq.

Pretty tasty Q in the highway thru Lampassas. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Menu somewhat limited, only 3 sides, but what they do is good. Brisket plenty moist with nice bark, ribs were tender with sweeter bark, sausage was ok. Sides too.
Loaded baked potato certainly was!
Reasonable pricing, comfortable space.
Unlikely to make any lists, but will satisfy a BBQ craving

Stopped here on a road trip home from northern New Mexico, and let me just say… this place delivered. We’re super picky about BBQ and the brisket and turkey were spot-on, tender, flavorful, perfectly smoked, and not greasy at all.

The bread pudding? Dangerous. We loved it so much we bought the last few slices they had.

The whole place has that true small-town, mom-and-pop feel warm, welcoming, and cozy, like you’ve known them forever. Absolutely worth the stop, and I’d happily make the 1.5-hour drive just to come back.

Tip: No cards, but they take cash or Venmo. Totally worth it.

Breakfast was so good!!! Who doesn’t want to start their day with brisket and eggs?! Not many places in Lampasas to get breakfast, let alone a good breakfast at reasonable prices. The omelet was only okay, but then, to be fair, I like a ton of veggies in my omelet and this isn’t exactly a veggie kind of place. The pancake was flipping awesome!!!! Like dessert with syrup. Everyone here is so kind. Food is made fresh so give it a minute. You won’t regret eating here.

$45 lunch for 2. You order off a white board menu based on what’s available for the day. We each opted for a 2 meat plate with drink, bringing our total to $45. The brisket was very tender but we weren’t too fond of the flavor. The barbeque sauce has a strong vinegar base and was a very liquid consistency. A hearty lunch although we wouldn’t go out of our way to return. The turkey was very good. Large, handicap accessible restrooms. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Self service drinks with tea and a Pepsi product fountain machine.

Stopped by on our drive back to Ft Worth for 2 brisket sandwiches. Food was good. Service was not inviting. Staff was annoyed that we showed up at 5:25 pm. They close at 6pm. They talked about us while they were in the back preparing our food. Not sure if they cared that we could hear them. Closing time is really 5:30, not 6. *Editing my review in response to owner… Free dessert??? What was it because we didn’t get a free dessert. That is a flat out lie. Must have been another customer they were rude to.

Good food! Great service! Dog friendly!

Driving through Lampasas after Thanksgiving with the family. My fiance was in the mood for barbecue.

We stopped in this BBQ establishment and we’re pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly. The portions were good. The chopped beef was not fatty at all. The tangy sauce complimented the meat perfectly.

Thevprices were a little high for a small town but I guess that is common these days. The restaurant had sold out of a few items earlier but we will stop back on our next drive through town.

One of my favorite barbecue places in the world. This family started off small in San Saba, and then moved to Lampasas. All of their meats are top notch. Today I had a smoked meatloaf. Yum! I’m also a big sauce guy and theirs is peppery with the right amount of vinegar. None of that overly sweet thick stuff. Love the sides esp the slaw. Tell Teresa I said hi.

Ordered the two meat plate. Brisket was a generous slice through the point and flat. Seasoning was very good, but I prefer less of a fat cap. Pulled pork was lean and the smoke came through just fine. Coleslaw was heavy on the pepper and different from most places. Potato salad was standard. Probably the most interesting aspect was the heavily seasoned sauce. I would recommend this place just for the sauce. I’ve heard the turkey is excellent and would try it along with the sausage on my next visit.

Youngs Burritios & BBQ is a great example of a hole-in-the-wall, family owned, down to earth local place to eat in places like San Saba, TX! The bare-bones place is definitely offset by the absolutely melt-in-your-mouth brisket. I’ve never had brisket this tender and tasty.

I didn’t put any of the homemade sauce on it ’cause good brisket doesn’t need sauce.

A really good cold slaw is the stable mate of a brisket sandwich. In this case, however, the slaw had only one taste, pepper. There was so much pepper on the slaw that it was really a bowl of pepper with some cabbage in it.

The drinks are basic water, sweet tea, not sweet tea, and a can of soda.

The friendly owners are eager to make sure everything’s ok.
