How was my experience? Well, as I entered the establishment, I felt I was brought back into good ol’ Japan where I would meet my uncle every Thursday to enjoy some quality time. The lighting inside was perfect, so perfect that I forgot it was still day time outside. You literally lose track of time while enjoying the amazing food. The pictures were taken by my son and they came out amazing. The taste were bursts of authentic Japanese flavors tingling my taste buds that caused my eyelids to close as if I was going straight into a comatose state…. but I didn’t. Don’t worry, I was okay. We also had the 8 month old baby daughter with us, sitting in a high chair and giving her shredded authentic sift shell crab meat. Whoever is reading this, you know an 8 month old can’t tell no lies… well her face did not. She looked at me as if it was the first time she realized I was her DAD… but instead it was the first taste of crab meat! She yelled, not of anger, or cries, but if a caption on the bottom of the screen was showing it would say, “Momma, gimme summa MO’ o Dat dem crab mmmeeaattt” more or less…. you don’t believe me? You think this is exaggerated? Well, go on in and see for yourself… enjoy and always….. be safe.

Finally got to try this spot!
I’ve been looking for a local sushi option besides our usual place, Hana Murrieta, and had heard some good things about You & I. We visited on a Saturday around lunchtime and they had a lunch special going on.
I always start with spicy tuna—my personal litmus test for a sushi place—and theirs was different, but tasty. The only thing I’d note is the seaweed was a bit thick for my liking. I also tried a 4-piece sushi combo with albacore, tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. Every single piece was phenomenal—fresh, buttery, and melted in my mouth. That alone will keep me coming back.
We also got the Candy Cane Roll, which was rich and packed with fish—no skimping here. My wife tried the baked green mussels and said they were very good.
Overall, it was a great experience. I’ll definitely be back for more!

EXCELLENT! Just found this special restaurant by happenstance and am so glad we tried it. Very good Miso and Salad that came free with the meal. We ordered the Jalapeno Bomb, Catalina Roll, Spicy Tuna and the Uni Eel. There was not one item that disappointed. Staff was wonderful, friendly, continuously clearing our table and keeping our waters full. Very nice atmosphere and comfortable seats as well. Also, very reasonable prices for everything. Definitely recommend a visit.

A very nice lunch/happy hour that’s a good deal in Temecula! Service was friendly and quick too. We got a Philadelphia Roll and Cherry Valley roll. The Cherry Valley wasn’t on the lunch/HH menu but was pretty fresh and was super tasty! The Tempura was plentiful also and came with a lot that was perfect to share. Pretty cool vibe inside too with lots of parking since it’s in a plaza.

Really shocked this place has a 4.7 stars rating. I hate giving low ratings because I don’t want to hurt the business but at the same time I like to be honest and perhaps the business can use it as helpful feedback.
Service: Slow. My family and I came on a Wed night at 7pm. It wasn’t busy but only 1 server and perhaps 1 (owner/mgr?) working the front of the house. It took at least 5 min (low estimate) for us to be acknowledged with menus or anything after we sat down.
Food: We ordered a variety just to try. Between 2 adults and 1 teenager, we only liked the edamame out of our entire order. My kid only ever eats veggie rolls and she did not like this one; thought it was too mushy? We also ordered sashimi combo for 2, chicken udon, a specialty roll (coronado island), and 2 piece Uni.
Unfortunately, I did not like anything. Fish did not taste fresh. The uni was $12 a pop and I couldn’t even finish because it just did not taste fresh at all and I did not feel like forcing myself to eat it just for the sake of $. The specialty roll was just too much. The entire menu of specialty rolls is a combo of so many ingredients all arranged differently; nothing distinct from one another. Perhaps keeping it a little simple would be better. The sashimi also wasn’t satisfying. Again, it had more to do with the freshness and texture of the food more than anything.
Being Asian, I would say I’m a little more picky with my japanese cuisine so I already had lowered expectations. But the bill still came out to $150 (including tip); so if I’m going to spend $50/pp, I expect the service and quality to match the price.
Suggestion to restaurant…just keep it fresh and simple. The specialty rolls are just confusing and does not create a bette menu.

We came here for the first time on our anniversary. The food, the staff, and the quick service will definitely have us coming back. The starter garlic edamame recommended by our server was delicious. The combination dinners (teriyaki chicken and salmon as our main entrées) complimented with the best shrimp and veggie tempura (a meal in and of itself) I’ve had in a long time came with a perfectly crisp, cold and fresh salad, miso soup (just the way I like it without big chunks of tofu), steamed rice, filled wontons, and Japanese vegetable pancakes. We will be enjoying at least 1 more meal each with the leftovers of our generous sized dinners. On top of all of that, our server made our dining experience extra special with a surprise ice cream for two to help us celebrate. Based on our experience, YouandI Sushi lives up to its high ranking.

Lovely atmosphere, no harsh lighting was a plus, and the sushi was delicious! I had fried calamari and the Grand Canyon specialty roll. Both are very tasty! Mushrooms are one of my favorite toppings on almost anything, so I HAD to try it on sushi. SOO GOOD! I tore through it so fast the waiter didn’t know I had already received my food and thought I was still waiting for food. Very mellow and pleasant restaurant, very friendly staff. Definitely recommend it to anyone in the area!
