One of the most authentic Japanese food experience you can have in Honolulu. This is actually the first restaurant I ever visited in Hawaii, and I’m super impressed by their food.
Even tho it could be a little pricey, but you get a whole experience of multiple courses Japanese food. Nearly fine dining level, you’ll find the food fresh and delicious and could never go wrong picking anything on the menu.
Love it! I have revisited multiple times and will continue to do so.

Whatever you do, you do not order the shabu shabu. I can make one better in my hotel room. Their broth was just pure, hot water and their sauce was not even tasty.
We had made reservations for 8 PM it took us almost 15 minutes to place an order. We did not leave until past 10 PM because the food took so long to get to us.
It’s a bit smelly inside and also a bit hot. The waitresses were trying to make us feel better.’ Because it was taking so long and the owner to have us the kids a free toy each.
However, for the food and the money you’re paying, we just don’t feel as quite worth it.
Many other better options for Japanese food in my opinion.

Delicious authentic Japanese food. The butterfish misoyaki was a standout- melted in your mouth but with a light crispy skin. Sashimi tasted high quality and the sides were great too. The staff were very kind and the food was served promptly.

The menu had a good variety. We ordered the sukiyaki, tempura, and the most affordable sushi set.
As a Japanese person who really misses sushi from home, I appreciated my friend ordering it for me — but honestly, sushi is much better and cheaper in Japan.
On the other hand, the sukiyaki was reliably delicious. You can order a raw egg to dip the beef in, which I highly recommend.
The lighting inside was quite dim, which made the food look less appealing, even though it tasted good. That was a bit of a shame.

I heard that this restaurant offers authentic Japanese home meals, so we made a reservation for dinner. We ordered the two-tier chirashi course, udon, chicken cutlet, and a broiled mackerel course.
My kids enjoyed the udon and chicken cutlet, although they found nothing special about them.
I liked the chirashi course. The sashimi was fresh, and I enjoyed the egg pudding and some of the side dishes. The rice bowl was okay, but if you’re looking for something exciting, you may not find it here. However, if you want to experience traditional Japanese home cooking, I recommend trying this place. The prices for the food were reasonable.

Super delicious! A family run restaurant. It is inside a hotel, known by words of mouths. Required reservation for a large group. Excellent menu with several set options or individual items. Best is to choose different sets as it would have several dishes to sample. Highly recommended in Waikiki.

A hidden gem recommended by my local friend. Two Tiered- Chirashi set dinner tasted fresh with lots of seafood treasures. The uni, pink sugar like tiny shrimp and abalone sashimi were tasty and not overpowering. Appetizers were delightful snack bites of homemade flavored vegetables and geo duck. Chawanmushi was smooth and flavorful. Overall food quality was great and good value. The servers were friendly. It was busy dinner time so it took a while to get everything in order and water refill, taking away dishes. The staff worked really hard to serve every table with lots of small dishes. It’s best to enjoy this lovely place without rushing.

It’s a very understated and pretty authentic Japanese restaurant in the lobby of the hotel. We parked across the street at the zoo. The combination dinner sets are awesome. It took me awhile to read through and figure out what I wanted to eat. Highly recommend the hamachi collar, saba shioyaki and salmon shioyaki The homemade tofu was so good. The little bites for appetizer were also very nice. The grilled fish was the star. The combo meal is such a great value for money offer. Reminded me of our trip to Japan. Lots of beautiful dishes and nice plateware. Would definitely come back! ご馳走様でした❣️
