Yoshida Omakase is a world class omakase counter experience.

The fish – superb. The shima aji went through this curing and salting process which produced a tender and rich bite that I just wanted more of. Their Akami is 28 day aged and was just bursting with flavor.

The rice is made with four different vinegars and served warm – a perfect balance with the fish.

The appetizers were amazing. We started off with monkfish liver, with a quenelle of apple purée – wow. It was fun watching the chef make each quenelle!

Service is top notch, the place is beautiful and the plateware was beautiful – each one different.

I would say this is now the best high end sushi in Boston. Had it been open long enough in 2025 it would have a Michelin star.

This was probably the best dinner my wife and I have had in the city. Sushi was exemplary, fresh from Japan and on par with some of the west coast’s high end restaurants in terms of quality. The service was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, much more well run than you might expect for only being open a short time. They had bar seating only when we were there and the atmosphere was excellent, watching the dish preparation and interacting with the chefs. Pretty classic high end sushi restaurant stuff. We have been to many of the better and well regarded sushi places in Boston, generally thinking they did not compare to experiences we had elsewhere. This place is an exception, meeting the quality we had hoped for. It is expensive but well worth the price given the high quality food and luxurious ingredients. Highly recommend!

I visited Yoshida on December 26.
The interior design, overall atmosphere, and the variety and freshness of the fish were all excellent and clearly well thought out.

That said, I felt there was room for improvement in execution and attention to detail, which are essential to an upscale omakase experience. The fish portions were inconsistent in size, and the rice was served overly warm. The brushed soy sauce was applied too heavily, at times overpowering the natural flavor of the fish. I also noticed water from the handwashing sink splashing onto the counter area, which was quite unpleasant.

In addition, the amount of wasabi used was excessive and inconsistent from piece to piece, affecting the overall balance of the sushi.

There were also several spelling errors on the menu, suggesting a lack of refinement in the finer details.

The experience is interesting on a first visit, but without stronger execution and attention to detail, it is unlikely to encourage repeat visits.

I so wanted to like this place, I came for my birthday dinner. The service and presentation were good, which is why I gave it 2 stars, but the quality of the fish was not great – there were a few plates that we didn’t even eat because they smelled too fishy to even try. The quality was a lot lower than the other high-end sushi restaurants in the city. I was disappointed, maybe we just caught them on a bad night but for the price, the dinner wasn’t worth it.

An exceptional omakase experience! Our group of 6 enjoyed immensely a birthday celebration at Yoshida Omakase. The dishes were amazing! Some were decadent with rich flavors while others kept true to the simple clean tastes of traditional Japanese omakase. Everyone in our party was impressed by the menu, the impeccable service, the elegant choices in design for the restaurant (serving dishes and sake glasses, and cutting board) and the seat arrangement. Allen, the manager, was wonderful and personalized our friend’s birthday on our menus. Overall, our night was perfect in every way. And we will definitely return in the future.

After I got back from my trip to Japan, I was craving an authentic omakase experience at home. When I stepped into Yoshida I could tell that every detail was accounted for, and I immediately felt as if I was back in Tokyo. From the seating, to the plating, to the precision of service, everything was impeccable. Ana’s sake pairing recommendations were on POINT and elevated the experience to no end. The entire evening was truly priceless, and perfect for an intimate celebration. The atmosphere and curation of every detail made for an unforgettable evening.

Really excellent addition to the booming omakase scene in Boston. Sushi was delicious, they make their own pickled ginger, what they call their appetizers were also great. Servers were extremely kind (if anything a little too attentive). The restaurant itself is a beautiful space. Go check it out!

An outstanding omakase experience and easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Boston. Yoshida feels special the moment you walk in — intimate, calm, and beautifully designed without feeling overdone.

The quality of the fish is excellent throughout, and the meal is paced in a way that lets you fully appreciate each course. The sushi is clean and precise, allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves, while the appetizers add depth and variety to the progression. Everything felt intentional and well considered.

The service was a standout. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Sitting at the counter and interacting with the chefs made the experience feel personal and engaging from start to finish.

Yoshida delivers a refined, memorable omakase that truly stands out. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it.
