Cute little sushi spot in Thornton – I stopped in around 9pm one night when I was craving sushi and sat at the bar. I had their yellowtail and jalapeño and a sushi roll and they were both great. My server was super cool and gave me some otger great recommendations that I tried – mackerel and then a little individual role with Yellowtail, jalapeño and mango. I really liked both of them had never tried a fish cured the way the mackerel was. Will have to stop in again soon!

Yonsei is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Colorado. And we’ve tried everywhere. Fresh fish, exceptional service, intimate setting, and our favorite place for lunch or dinner. Regardless of the trendy places in Denver, this will always be our first choice. And who would’ve thought? Specially being nestled in the suburbs. If you’re contemplating on where to go, this is your sign to give this place a shot.

We eat here regularly. A must if your in the north metro area. The fish is always extremely fresh, they have a nice variety of menu items, and the staff that runs Yonsei is amazing. I highly recommend giving it a try.
I suggest trying the Sashimi as well as the Red Samurai roll.

Everything was surprisingly good for being in Denver, well Thornton in this case. The only thing I thought could’ve been better was the miso soup. It had umami but needed a little salt or soy sauce.
Service was good and quick. The decor and atmosphere was on point. The chef even let me video him cutting up a tuna.
The overall experience was pleasant. Definitely recommended.

Lovely little sushi restaurant with plenty of options. The sushi is fresh, the rice is not dry, and the fish is high quality. The service was very attentive, Kumi helped explain the menu and was very quick to answer questions. The only thing with atmosphere is that the tables are a bit cramped together, but my friends found that cozy so take it for what you will.

Wow! I dont have enough good things to say about this place. The atmosphere was incredible, they had a bar that you could sit at while they made the sushi. They also had lunch specials. I ordered one of the 4 options they had. It was so good, its such high quality. The menu is amazing and simple. The food is so fresh and was being prepared right in front of us. Our server was also so nice and did such a great job in explaining the menu and taking care of us!

It’s okay not the best sushi and not even appetizers.
For starters , this place smells like cigarettes and the server confirmed that it’s because of the businesses surrounding it so I feel bad for the owners and everyone who was working there for having to deal with that in a daily basis.
Second of all the miso soup tasted like it was straight out of a package and you poured hot water in it so not even fresh. The squid salad also tasted like 2-day-old store bought squid salad no fresh at all not fresh at all.
Last but not least the sushi rolls were okay. Lastly, the server was really nice and she did a great job.

Really enjoyed Yonsei! Tried a hand roll and was surprised at how delicious it was. Really enjoyed the pan sear on the gyoza as well .
