Once again eating at Lunch Box Cafe was a great experience. It was busy there this time, but it was still relaxing. It’s a lovely place where customers and staff can be found talking with each other and enjoying each others company.

The food is delicious and not really that pricey at all. I got a Cowboy Burger for $7. This burger is a cheese burger with a slice of ham, onion rings, bacon, and BBQ sauce. Trust me it’s as amazing as it sounds.

Now one thing I like to do when I go to a restaurant is check out the bathroom and Lunch Box Cafe has one of the most unique little bathrooms I’ve ever saw.

This year would mark 25 years since Lunch Box Cafe has opened and even though it’s only open till 2 pm, it’s still one of the best restaurants in Havana, Illinois.

Loved it. Homey, friendly, great down home food. Cash only. (I get though). A tm across the street.

The Lunchbox Cafe in Havana is an amazing little diner located in an old bus stop building, and it exudes a quaint charm that makes it a must-visit! The cozy atmosphere and unique setting create a delightful experience. The menu features a variety of delicious comfort food options that never disappoint, making it a great spot for a satisfying meal. Just a couple of tips: be sure to bring cash, as they don’t accept cards, and if you need to use the restroom, it’s cleverly hidden behind a mirror! Overall, the Lunchbox Cafe is a hidden gem that captures the heart of the community—definitely worth checking out!

We were excited to try the hometown, nostalgic restaurant that everyone raves about but we were very disappointed. The food was fine, very basic and ordinary. The server, who may have been the owner, was rude! She had a rude, snarky comment anytime we asked a question. She spoke to us in a very condoscending manner. We will never eat there again!

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast. No fancy stuff here, just good homemade food. The owner/staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back for lunch, after hearing patrons talk about how good the daily specials are as well as the cake they had for dessert.

I enjoyed breakfast there. The food was tasty and at a good price. The dialogue between the owner and the cook was priceless. Any antiques collector might be interested in the many 60’s and 70’s era lunchboxes which adorn the walls.

This is one of the coolest small town diners I have ever been to. It’s nostalgic and local , with a phenomenal collection of metal lunch boxes! I saw a few I remember having as a child. The owner is courteous and a great chef!

The lunchbox has a throwback look decorated with vintage lunchboxes and pictures from local artists. The food is great and the cook is the nicest person you will ever meet. But don’t go there if you expect your butt kissed because the owner won’t do it. She is very Frank (and sometimes a little rude) and has no filter which is probably why her usuals keep coming back. It’s a whole different experience than your typical restaurant. They are open for breakfast and lunch.

This place has totally homemade breakfast and lunch daily/MON to FRI in a fun and welcoming environment. Lots of regular customers. A blueplate special that changes daily. Been around at least 25 years which says it all. Bravo Patty!

Sat there over 40 minutes no food. Guy orders 20 or so minutes after we did. Gets food right off the bat. I tried to pay at least for our drinks lady told me my food was being worked on. Didnt offer to box it up after I told her I had to go can’t wait. Then had the nerve to tell me sarcastically I’m sorry u had to wait ur turn. Excuse me. I waited paitently. U served ur locals first. Had you go through a mirrored wall to get to the bathroom.
