WOW! We had an absolutely over-the-top fantastic lunch here!
We ordered the Tamago Sando with potato salad, Don Pedro roll, and the Vegas roll. We were completely delighted to receive the Volcano roll on the house! We followed all of this up with some Ube ice cream.
From the hostess to our waitress, the delicious foods, the bright, clean decor, and meeting and getting to speak with the Chef (!), this was one incredible experience. We are so grateful you’re here in Hurricane, and we wish Yokoso Japanese Cuisine great success in everything! We will definitely be returning, and next time we won’t dig into our food until we’ve taken proper photos of it! ♥

So lucky to find the shining beacon of Yokoso restaurant upon our late arrival into Hurricane. This place just opened a week before we got there and is chef-owned by a brother-sister pair. Apparently they put together the Avengers squad of chefs to create this place. Based on the quality of food we experienced, I think they’ve unlocked the secret to top-grade sushi in Utah somehow. They fly their fish in fresh and the taste and texture was some of the best I’ve had lately.
We were seated at the bar, and felt cared for and tended to by friendly staff. Our waiter, Joshua, was very attentive. Sushi Chef Eegii hooked us up! 10/10 recommend the custom/chef’s choice Highlander roll – let Chef take you on a ride to flavor town. Ours was spicy salmon and yellowtail with the perfect paper-thin jalapeño. We also got the perfectly prepared sashimi with yellowtail, salmon, lean tuna, and branzino. So soft and bright, with richness that only comes from fresh prime cuts. Chef also suggested the Sakedon – salmon three ways: fried, sashimi, and roe, over gorgeous sushi rice and a rich, flavorful slaw. We finished with a beautiful deconstructed umami-packed miso. My only note for this beautiful, modern place is that it was really bright inside and I more enjoy a little mood lighting/ambiance 🙂 Thanks to everyone for a wonderful meal!

We moved to the St George area about a year ago and we have tried every sushi place down here several times in hopes we could find at least one or two menu items that were okay and they’ve all been such a disappointment. We even started driving clear up to Cedar City for a slightly better option than we were finding in St George. We had given up on finding good sushi down here and then we heard about this new place that had opened and IT IS SO GOOD! The tuna was melt-in-your-mouth, buttery fresh. The combinations and homemade sauces are incredible. Their Agadashi tofu was so crispy and the sauce was perfect. WE HAVE FINALLY FOUND OUR SUSHI PLACE! We ordered a California roll, PD roll, Vegas roll, and the baked Volcano roll. The PD with the melt-in-your-mouth fresh tuna was our favorite, but we loved the Vegas and California rolls too. The Volcano was really good, but that one was a meal all on its own and next time we will just order that one by itself. We met Sushi Chef Doug and he’s a great guy and our server was a cute gal too. You wouldn’t have even known this place was just in their soft opening phase (7 days) because the place is run so well and the food was amazing. Kudos to Chef Doug and the entire staff! You have converted us to regulars after one dining experience with you. (You’ll have to excuse our terrible photos. We were so excited that we dove right in and started eating and forgot to take photos first.)

I work in an office next to Yokoso, so I have had plenty of opportunities to eat here and order takeout. Today I sit in the restaurant writing this review as I await a bowl of freshly prepared ramen. Today marks the 10th time that I have eaten at Yokoso. As I near a dozen visits to this restaurant, I feel that I have had sufficient interactions to justly rate and review the food, service, and my overall experiences. Yokoso is a new restaurant in which chefs, waiters, and hosts are being trained and educated. Due to the novelty of the restaurant, there is the potential to experience a variety of reasons to be “less than satisfied;” however, I have left each visit extremely satisfied with the overall experience. My food has always been freshly prepared in a timely manner, and extremely tasteful. Although very few, the service members have always acknowledged any and all delays or missteps in service, which is all one can expect in an imperfect world; especially with a restaurant in its infancy. I have been called by name on multiple occasions which speaks to the quality of service here. I highly recommend this restaurant for anybody and everybody. The quality, service, atmosphere, and overall production is top-tier. 5/5 ⭐️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
Yokoso is hands down the best sushi in town! The service was amazing from start to finish, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and the food was SO good. The portions were generous, the rice-to-fish ratio on the sushi rolls was good (not overloaded with rice), and the quality of the fish was top tier.
Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We can’t wait to go back!

Food was absolutely delicious! Every dish that we ordered (group of five) was above and beyond good. It was 8 different dishes total, from sushi rolls to chicken katsu burger, to several appetizers – all the flavors were amazing! It’s their soft opening right now, so the waitresses are still learning the menu too and the staff is finding their rhythm, but everyone was super kind and helpful and willing to find out the answers to any questions we had. The menu also has a helpful little definition section (for Japanese ingredients) for convenience. 10/10 would recommend, and we’ll definitely be back multiple times to try more dishes!

Two words: huge portions. We ordered the unagi and oyaku chicken dons. Both were affordable, abundant, and well seasoned. We also ordered the gyoza appetizers which were decent.
The service was attentive but perhaps too attentive. We noticed the wait staff staring quite a bit at us, to the point it became quite uncomfortable. The establishment itself is not the largest so there may be a wait during peak hours.

Service was great, and we loved the tempura. Fantastic textures and vegetable choices. Japanese pumpkin is always a treat.
I was very excited when I saw oyakodon on the menu, as no other menu in the area has it. But… It was not authentic and not at all what I was expecting. It tasted good, but did not have the preparation or any of the dashi flavor I had been hoping for. Eggs are typically cooked over the chicken simmering in tsuyu, but this bowl had the chicken and eggs cooked completely separate. It felt like it was its own dish, and not quite oyakodon.
The slaw was also unexpected and not typical, although tasty.
My husband did enjoy the katsu bowl, and I may come back to try it or other dishes in the future.
Overall, it was good food, but after visiting Tokyo and having since been on a search for local restaurants with similar flavors, I did feel a little let down.

1st of all.. im not try to be mean. Just because I’m Japanese, I’d like to leave my honest opinions. I’ll try my best to explain my thoughts on this place.
I lived in Hurricane for 5 years.
Soon I learn that there were not many Japanese restraints around here to go to, i was really excited to try this place.
Even i had a high expectations, this place would be great option if they were right price and authentic. Saids “Japanese cuisine” so that’s at least I was hoping for.
Before I went, I was reading people’s reviews and pics kind of earning what to expect and decide if it worth to go or not, but come cross few pics that was questionable… mainly what I can see from pics, “donburi” menu were not authentic at all and way over priced.
Sushi looked ok for few pics so I was going back and forth thinking I don’t want to waste the money or I shouldn’t judge without try at least once.
So when my son (18) said he want to go try, I told him how expensive it is, and food was not look good.. but we decided to go.
And we were all disappointed….
We ordered two kind of rolls and yakisoba and miso soup. Both rolls were not tightly rolled, not enough rice. Yakisoba noodle was dry. We pay $74. it was horrible. My son soon learn that it was not good at all and too expensive.
I immediately reported to few of my Japanese friends in town said don’t come this place.
And We’re not planning a return either.

OMG…This place is amazing. We tried that Panda and the Yokoso sushi rolls, they were the best. Waygu burger, out of this world. And don’t forget to try the Mango Cheesecake. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant.
If you like Japanese Cuisine, Yokoso is the place for you.
