Customization is key here . It’s the pump my ride of eateries . As little or as much as you want . Vegan? Gluten free ? Keto? Spicy ? None spicy ? It’ll cover all dietary needs . Want to try frog legs ? Go for it . Love shrimp? It’ll love you back from a piping hot huge bowl of broth . The staff was courteous .

I’ve written about another branch before, and this time I visited the Mira Mesa location. The interior decoration is very Chinese and beautiful, and the store is extremely clean. I once again chose the ox bone soup as the base, which was very flavorful. There is a wide variety of ingredients to choose from, with meat and vegetables priced the same and weighed by the pound. They also have a self-service condiment station. I picked one pound of vegetables and also ordered some Kuafu fried skewers. The meal was very satisfying and offered great value for money.

if you are in SD and want to try Malatang, this is the place. I like the soup, which is very rich in flavor. Also they have fried skewers to add in more flavor and choices. Also I want to shout out to their service, respects to their customers. So would recommend.

This restaurant combines two familiar concepts under one roof—Yin Tang’s malatang and Kua Fu’s fried skewers—and the crowds suggest a winning formula. We arrived during a peak period and waited about 40 minutes to be seated. Our focus was the fried skewers, though they ultimately proved disappointing.
The vegetable skewers were coated in an overly thick layer of flour and lightly seasoned, leaving them bland on their own. The dry spice mix provided at the table did little to compensate, failing to adhere well enough to bring the flavors into balance. Because all the skewers appear to be fried simultaneously, despite differing ingredient needs, textures varied widely; some arrived noticeably tougher than others. The meat skewers fared better, benefiting from prior marination that gave them more depth and flavor.
We also ordered a bowl of malatang, but the broth was milder than expected—less robust than at other Yin Tang locations. While the concept is appealing and the space clearly popular, execution here felt uneven, making the long wait harder to justify.

The workers are fast and helpful! Its always crowded but everything flows so well. Its laid back here and always tons of customers!

I’ve enjoyed yummy noodle soup at the Clairemont location. Having lunch here was my very first time being at this location. Love the decor and spacious dining room. I am adding this place to my favorite Mira Mesa go to restaurant list.

If you love, hot pot, but you can’t eat the amount of food in an AYCE cause it’s 40 give or take, yin tang is definitely for you. They do food by the way and it’s $13.99 a pound and I don’t ever eat more than 2 pounds worth of food because my skinny girl diet doesn’t allow me to. This is definitely the place for you. The food is fresh plus they have SKEWERS. They also have a nice little freebie for a drink. Since I’ve moved to California I’ve visited this place more than any other restaurant. The broth are fragrant and I always togo the extra soup, get some noodles and make another meal at home. The bowl is HUGE.

We’ve been twice and love the original soup base and the variety of ingredients to add to your soup. Minimum is 1 lb and it’s 13.99 lb. I always have a lot to take to go! Favorite ingredients are thinly sliced lamb, variety of mushrooms, bok choy and napa cabbage.
