beef bone broth is very good. just the right amount of flavor. i suggest mostly getting meat since everything is charged in weight. i did find a hair in my food though

The food and environment felt unhygienic. After eating here, I had stomach issues and diarrhea the entire next day. The place did not look clean, and overall the experience was very unpleasant.
Additionally, I noticed that the restaurant encourages customers to leave positive reviews in exchange for free drinks. This makes many of the high ratings feel unreliable and unfair to future customers

The food is good and the prices are reasonable. They have an underground garage, so it makes it much easier to park. They do clean up regularly, but the sauce section can get pretty messy as people are messy when they scoop up the liquids. The broth flavors and ingredients are great. I recommend the bone broth. The lamb is great.

This place is set up like a food court which is different than other restaurants. You pick the ingredients that you want, place them into your bowl, and the price of your meal is based on the weight of the food. You, then, choose the broth you like and the kitchen fills up your bowl.
I like that we were able to pick more of the ingredients we liked, but wished they also gave us the option to choose how much broth we wanted. That way, it doesn’t go to waste because I doubt people are drinking it all considering how much they give you.

While we were eating, we kept getting bombarded by these fruit flies which was really annoying. I’m not sure where they came from because their doors were closed most of the time. The place is located in a plaza with a large range of different restaurants. The workers, on the other hand, were very friendly and nice. Parking was pretty easy because there was always someone going in and out.
Glad that we got to try it, but don’t think we’ll be coming back any time soon.

Very much a casual place that has you do everything on your own. I definitely see the appeal, can definitely see myself coming here with friends at night if someone else suggests it, but preference-wise it’s not everyone’s cup of tea including my own.

Best instant hotpot/Malatang in Irvine, love the dry style and beef bone broth. You can adjust your seasoning by yourself. Recommend: when you order spicy dry dish, add more sesame sauce and crashed peanuts! Much fresher ingredients and better flavor than Zhangliang Malatang. Also, they don’t really ask high tips as a fast food restaurant, but still with pretty good service.

I love malatang!! This place lets you DIY your pot. It’s price by weight so you can put anything in the bowl and they’ll cook it for you. The server was very friendly and made a few suggestions for me. The sauce bar is also DIY. The wait time is not very long. The restaurant is inside the food court and there was a nice parking lot in front. The tang is very delicious! Love it!
