Royal Treatment! This amazing pizza restaurant has held a special place in my husband’s heart. Since he was a little boy, he would eat here when he would come to Waseca to visit his grandfather. Living outside of the area now, we don’t get to visit much. Our family happened to be on a light tour for Christmas in a nearby city. We called in to see what the hours were and the new owner, Chelsea, was simply amazing! Even though they were close to closing, she took our large order, had the tables all set and ready for us and our pizzas on the warmer when we arrived. My husband wanted all our kids to see this yummy pizza joint he still craves as an adult. What a blast from the past! Our family had the best night, around the fireplace and telling stories of when he was a kid and would visit! Thank you, Chelsea and staff for making us feel like royalty when we dined in and giving us a new cherished holiday memory for our family!

I heard about this place from several people who were raving about it. On a spontaneous note, we decided to take a trip there (we live in Mankato, MN and it’s just under a 30 minute drive).
Luckily, we arrived during the buffet time, which I decided to try the buffet and my brother got the Chicken Parm sandwich with a 10″ taco pizza.
Every slice I tried from the buffet was delicious and perfect. A crisp crust, lots of cheese and toppings. It was flavorful and smooth. I give it a 10 on mouth feel…. Thanks to Boyle from Brooklyn for recommending the mouth feel experience.
Lisa (rhymes with pizza) is the manager and was our waitress as well (FYI, she said they are looking for fry cooks, so if anyone in the area is looking for an awesome place to work, they are hiring.). Lisa was so helpful and kind and just overall awesome .
This place is worth the trip. We are going to go back with the rest of our family so they can experience it. I know I will go back. In fact, we were kind of deciding that this might be our new favorite pizza place in the area.
We talked to one couple there and they said it’s their favorite pizza place. The cooks and anyone we met were super nice and helpful.
For dessert, I got Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler ice cream.. two scoops and it was phenomenal. The ice cream is Kemp’s and it was so good!
Overall, I highly recommend trying Yellow Mushroom Pizza… I’m certain you will not be disappointed… In fact, I would be willing to bet it will sit in your top 5 pizza joints!

I have been eating at Yellow Mushroom since the early 1970’s and know the restaurant well. Had some great experiences and some challenges over the years but my visit today was great! The pizza was done to perfection and a real throwback to the quality I remember and expect. The service was fantastic too! Quick, efficient, and very friendly. The owners were engaged in the food prep and service and you could tell great care was given to the details. The restaurant was also clean and well organized. Definitely give Yellow Mushroom a visit, especially if you have not been there in a while. The new owners are great!

Wife, daughter and I were the only ones in the place at 5:30 on a Saturday. We ordered a 16″ two topping pizza, 6 breadsticks, 3 pops and 3 cones. It came to around $60-$65 after tax and before tip. We liked the thin crust, but were left unimpressed with rest. Not much flavor. Server did a good job. For us, it was just ok and a bit overpriced.

Good thin crust pizza. We had the combo / house special. The crust had a good crisp texture. Could have had a little more topping on the pizza. Very good taste. Very clean. Nice atmosphere. Nice restaurant. Reasonable prices

Chicken was alright. Gravy was delicious. I hate coleslaw but they made a great coleslaw. However they charged me $6.99 for a dipping container of Potatoe salad. This isn’t even a side for an infant. It’s not even a sample size.

I was born and raised in Waseca and Yellow Mushroom pizza was and still is my favorite pizza. I moved out of state 26 years ago, yet every time we come back here to visit it is a MUST for us to stop here and get pizza. There is no place like it at all. The same love I have for this place also goes for my husband and our three kids who are all adults now! They always make sure that we have to eat here and grab a pizza every time we come back!!
