So glad to see that COVID didn’t wipe out all of these “stack it high and stir fry” spots. YC’s Mongolian Grill is a classic-pay your set fee, fill your bowl with all your faves, and you’ve got enough food for days. We went for the large bowls this time and still had leftovers for two lunches. That’s a solid ROI in my book.
They didn’t have any fish proteins (bummer), but they’ve added protein noodles, which were a nice surprise. The sauce bar is still a choose-your-own-adventure, and pro tip: if you’re stacking your bowl like a Jenga tower, double up your sauce recipe to make sure every bite gets the flavor love it deserves.
The Experience:
Service was smooth, and the restaurant was clean and organized. Everything ran like a well-oiled wok station. You get rice, soup, chips, and a drink included, and while the ice cream used to be part of the package, it seems that’s extra now. No big deal, but worth noting if you’re bringing kids or have a sweet tooth.
Pro Tip:
Grab extra wax paper at the start so you can SMASH your ingredients down and fit in every last veggie, noodle, and bite of deliciousness. It’s an art form. And don’t forget to grab your fortune cookie on the way out. They’re near the door before you leave, and it’s the perfect way to wrap up your stir-fry session with a little wisdom (or a laugh).

I LOVE this place! I have been going here since 2004, when I first moved to AZ. This is the best (and original) location for YC’s. Even though the bowls got smaller, you can still pay only $.50 for a take-home box. The value is fantastic, the service wonderful, and the food – perfectly tailored to your personal tastes, since you’re the one who puts it all together! I’ve never been to a better Mongolian grill than this one.

Very enjoyable place, experience and atmosphere. You walk in and pay, buy your to go box then! Bought the large bowl, so I will have my dinner as well. We didn’t know how to mix the sauces, the manager-mixologist mixed the sauce flavors for us per our descriptions, that was unique; he nailed it for myself and my husband’s particular flavor requests. Clean. Friendly, fast, delicious!
