How someone who loves ramen and understands about it, I was hoping a little bit more.

I tried the place twice (Wednesday and Friday). Both times I asked the same thing: Miso Ramen with pork belly. They were pretty different between each other.

On Wednesday it was a light and almost white soup. The soup was warm, almost cold. The pork belly was not so fried.

On Friday it also was warm, not really hot. The egg was far away of the right point for Ramen’s.

Cheap price. Fast service.

First-time visit and overall a pleasant experience. Given the cold, snowy weather, it was a good day for soup. We ordered soup bowls and edamame, and everything was solid. The flavors were good, though they could have been a bit more vibrant. My grilled chicken, however, didn’t seem grilled and tasted more like boiled chicken, which was a bit disappointing.

The restaurant had a fun, lively atmosphere with a good mix of kids and adults, though it was chilly inside and fairly noisy. While there are other noodle shops I personally prefer, my companions felt it was about a 50/50 chance they’d return. Not bad overall, just not especially memorable.

The restaurant was very cute and aesthetic, great for taking pictures and it elevated my eating experience a lot! There were multiple TVs playing different animes and a lot of anime related decorations up.
Atmosphere – 5/5
The food itself was reasonably priced, except it lacked the flavor I expected for japanese dishes. Specficially, I order spicy miso chashu ramen, the noodles were obviously storebought / not handmade and lacked texture, and broth wasn’t bad but it wasn’t thick enough not flavorful enough for my liking. My friend ordered the creamy garlic steak ramen and had the same complaint for the broth. The meat for chashu and steak were good though. As for the pork belly buns, they unfortunately did not taste good at all, I could barely taste the pork and it wasn’t even hot when served to us, too much bun and not enough pork and the pork didn’t even taste good.
Food – 3/5
The bathrooms (at least for women) were very clean and hygienic so that was nice!
Service was good as the cashier and server were very friendly and nice.
Service 4/5
Loved everything about the restaurant except the food (not that I didn’t like it, just could be better)

It was freezing out when I went in, and this place absolutely hit the spot. The food was perfect for the weather. I ordered the udon and it was on point, especially with the red miso base, which I’d highly recommend. The tofu was also really good. Add in friendly, attentive staff and a fun, lively atmosphere, and it made for a great meal. Definitely a place I’d go back to.

Anime movies are playing all around you as you enjoy warm bowls of ramen. Wonderfully decorated and catered to anime fans. They even have Labubus on sale. You make your own ramen adventure – choose a broth, noodle type and your protein of choice. Staff was nice and the food was good. Would eat here again.

Great little Ramen spot with awesome ambience inside. Anime art on the walls, anime running on a loop on the TVs, and J pop playing on the speakers. Close proximity to the waterfront.

Build your own ramen options with choice of broth, noodle, and protein. Plenty of extras to add if you don’t like the base ingredients and toppings of soft boiled egg, naruto fish cake, bok choy, green onions, sesame seasoning, and nori “seaweed”. They also have an array of yakitori.

We got the pork and chicken yakitori, and two orders of tonkotsu ramen. Yakitori was delicious, service was great, and ramen was ok.

This spot is such a treat!!! My husband and I came from out of town and got to try a new sparkling sake and it was PERFECT! I love the vibes and the food and everything here, you can tell that this place is run by people who really love nerd culture and have all the enthusiasm this place is 1000000% on my MUST GO list

Listen, we were so excited to come here for a date night. The anime theme is definitely well incorporated. Staff is kind and welcoming.
The ramen… bland. No flavor. We added corn to the Tonkatsu Ramen with Steak, expectations were high. The broth had no flavor other than the corn we added. It was as if the can of corn had been dumped into the bowl. Tonkatsu traditionally is very flavorful. The egg was hard boiled not soft boiled and even lacked flavor. How does that happen? My husband ate the bowl and I sipped the $5.30 Ramune (that is delicious). It’s such a fun idea but no flavor at all. Super bummed wanted to love it. Not pictured was the Pork Belly Bao that was good! Good flavor. Just bummed the ramen was so bad. Seemed like many enjoyed their food around us. We’ve been spoiled to live in areas where Ramen is a staple dish so we had high hopes this was going to be amazing. Bummed but great atmosphere and drinks.

I had an INTENSE craving for ramen so I had to order some To-Go after work. I just wanted a simple, flavorful, warm and hydrating meal and for the most part— YATAI delivered. As-is, the pork ramen was a little bland. But with the guidance of super sweet Thea, I loaded up on condiments before I left and I’m glad I did. I added chili soy sauce, siracha and garlic siracha to create the perfect ramen.

I’ll be back the next time I have a craving and I think I’ll try the yakitori!

The chicken yakitori and steak yakisoba stir fry were delicious. The ramen with shoyu broth, steak, and udon noodles is what brought the rating from a 4.5 to a 3 star rating. The broth was not very hot, the flavor was ok, and the steak was way over cooked, tough, and dry. I was very disappointed in the soup. The yakisoba stir fry took a long time to get it to the table but it was delicious and had a great sauce. I would stick with the yakitori meats and noodle stir fry if you go there. I wouldn’t go back and just go to a better place.
