A great Jamaican gem in downtown Portland. The food was hot, flavorful, and arrived in generous portions.
I highly recommend the sweet and filling plantains, and loved how they had several vegetarian options. Note that the jerk tofu was mostly black beans with some tofu pieces- but still very good. Even the stewed cabbage was good, especially when mixed with the beans. My partner had the jerk chicken and we were both impressed with the portion size. This is a great option for a flavorful, filling meal. There is lots of space in the building for this business to expand- I hope they do!

This Jamaican food place surprised me with its great flavor. I tried the chicken pattie, and it was delicious, with good seasoning and a perfect crust. I’ll definitely be back to try the jerk chicken, which I’m sure will be just as tasty. Recommended!

The food was beautiful and delicious, the service was quick and welcoming. I almost didn’t find this place located on the second floor of the Public Market House, but I’m glad I did. You have to go inside the main door, to the back, up the stairs and YardieTing is the last section of the room. They also had a great selection of soft drinks in the cooler. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Portland.

the food that comes from this place is 100% made with love. the jerk chicken patties are so good and the mac n cheese is the best around! Good spice on the jerk chicken plate too! I’ve ordered twice so far and it’s blown me away. Definitely a fan!

I was visiting Portland for my very first time for of course but my husband and I decided to switch it up this particular evening for dinner. My husband found this quaint spot by doing a Google search and just WOW! Who knew! I now have a reason other than lobster to visit! The flavors of your curried chicken was sensational and the cabbage was (that means ). My husband said his jerk chicken was so on point! I also had a curried chicken patty that I froze (because I was stuffed after eating my meal) and ate 3 days later once back in Michigan that was still very tasty! Thanks for the food experience, I thoroughly enjoyed

This is some of the best authentic Jamaican food I’ve had in Maine. The flavor: insaneeeee! The portions: generous! The service: fast! I’m literally standing here, mid-chew to leave this review because I don’t understand how it isnt slammed in here. Y’all need to get a jerk box with Mac and cheese, plantains, pineapple salsa, rice and beans with the oxtail gravy, and coco bread. No competition

SO GOOD! I got the veggie curry w/ rice & peas and plantains — everything was so flavorful and nourishing!! I’m definitely coming back to try the jerk tofu (unfortunately they were out). This spot is a dream for both vegans and meat eaters alike 🙂

Nice to get some Caribbean flavors in the northeast. The place is kind of hard to find, located on the 2nd floor indoors of a food court type plaza.
The jerk pork is amazing. Oxtails were salted beforehand which dominates the flavor a bit but I’m used to it. The curry goat wasn’t as tender as it could be but overall the seasoning was very good and goes well with the rice and beans.
Nice selection of Jamaican sodas as well – ginger & pineapple is great!! Check them out if you’re in the area and want a bit more spice 🙂

Such great Jamaican food. So many options including vegan ones! The sweet plantains are probably my favorite, with the jerk tofu, steamed veggies, rice and beans. My friends who like meat love it here too. Probably only place around here with authentic Jamaican food. The staff are all so nice, i’m so glad they got a bigger spot on the first floor
