This is my favorite sushi place in Charlotte. I have dined in here and we regularly DoorDash from here as well. The food is always good- my favorite is chicken lettuce wraps, very filling and healthy. Other things that we love from here are- miso soup, cream cheese dip, tako yaki, curry rice ball. Our favorite rolls are- gladiator, tarzan, philly roll, shrimp tempura roll. Only thing that I haven’t liked from here is brussels sprouts, too crispy for me.

The food is good and consistently so. EVERYTIME I go, the food is always excellent. Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Charlotte, no frills, just a quaint cozy restaurant with a nice atmosphere and and easy vibe that allows for you to dine solo, with a few friends or date night. I love this place, it’s worth a visit

This place is a must-visit for sushi lovers! Everything was fantastic. The miso soup was divine, and we tried the Kiss a Fire Roll, Black Diamond, and The Snazzy — all three were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend and would definitely order them again.
The atmosphere was inviting and the space was clean and well-maintained. We stopped in on a Tuesday night for dinner without a reservation and were seated promptly. Despite it being a busy night, the staff was friendly, accommodating, and got our order in quickly. The food came out in exceptional timing, which was impressive.
This was my first time here, and I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Charlotte. If you’re looking for great sushi with excellent service, this is the place to go!

Ordered delivery, toro tartar, toro nigiri and Philly roll. I eat sushi 2-3 times a week, I couldn’t even finish this it was so bad. I’ve never not been able to finish sushi. The cheap pricing should have been a red flag that this would not be quality fish. Worst sushi I have ever had in all my travels. Very disappointed

My complaint is the takeout containers literally MELT – they clearly put food in styrofoam when it’s way too hot and it dissolves and the plastic probably all melts into the food. This happens all the time… and it’s worse most times with all 4 corners of the container melted. Otherwise the food is actually really good.

Yamazaru Sushi was as advertised; good food, decent prices. We started with dumplings and brussel sprouts which were really good. I got the Red Dragon Roll and the Black Diamond roll; both of which were solid. Others in my party raved about the sashimi. They are very good with the ingredients they used. My only issue was that the restaurant wasn’t welcoming. The entrance was crowded with servers, supplies and customers coming and going. There was zero Japanese feel to the experience. The place needs a feng shui makeover. The food does make up for it. There was a lot of debate in our group about the best sushi in Charlotte, but most prefer Yamazaru.

Great Service! Great Food! Great Ambience! My wife tried sushi for the first time, and loved it! Will definitely be back! The bacon wrapped scallops are delicious!! The Green topped sushi with pico de gallo is a hidden menu item, our server informed us of! It was great! Try it!

Great sushi & atmosphere! Pretty busy on the weekends so plan ahead. They seem to have limited seating options and it is pretty cramped for space so you could be waiting a bit potentially. We were able to grab 2 seats at the bar without a reservation on a Friday night.

I have been coming here for 4+ years. By far one of my favorite sushi spots in Charlotte. The food is absolutely amazing. I have always had a good experience until last night. We had some friends in town and wanted to show them a nice chill night. We walk in and it was about a 40 minute wait which is fine, so we were added to the waitlist . We walked over to the bar and grabbed a few seats ordered a round of cocktails while we waited. The manager came up about 5-10 minutes later and said that the bar is for eating, not drinking and that if we weren’t ordering food, we need to take our cocktails outside. Keep in mind it was 35° degrees. I asked him if it was a new policy and he said all people do is “no, I want to sit people here. All people do is complain, complain complain”. Not sure as to what he was talking about as we were very cordial and was spending money at the bar. Typically we sit at the bar to eat and are regulars (almost weekly), we never have been treated like this. He was extremely rude and it honestly ruined the dinner experience. I was embarrassed that we brought our out of town friends here. I’ve never had this issue. I expected more especially when we are spending $200+ for dinner and drinks.
