This place has improved tremendously! I wrote this place off over a year ago because every time I went, the staff was unorganized and unfriendly and always a long wait. Today I came for a second time in the past 3 months and BOTH times were amazing. The staff is friendly, very attentive, the food was delicious, and overall a big improvement. Check out the server Malia. She was attentive and very kind. My daughter and I had a great experience and we will definitely be back again. Also, the manager was very kind and seemed to bring great energy to his crew. Great job colonial heights IHOP!!!!

This was our first time dining in and I will be back! Destiny was our server! She was very attentive! 10 out of 10 if I had a restaurant I would definitely recruit her! Please acknowledge this young lady for her top tier professionalism! And the food was amazing cook to perfection!

This IHOP should be embarrassed.

I ordered a cinnamon bun crepe through the IHOP app and waited nearly 30 minutes past the pickup time — and for what? A sloppy, sad excuse for a crepe that looked nothing like the picture. It had none of the advertised toppings: no powdered sugar, no strawberries, no cheesecake mousse, no cream cheese. Just a dry, thrown-together mess in a box.

To make it even more infuriating, the dining room was completely empty. No customers. No rush. No excuse for why a single order took almost half an hour longer than promised.

If something costs $12.57 after tax, the bare minimum is that it actually includes the ingredients listed. And if you’ve run out? Say so. Don’t knowingly hand someone a stripped-down mess and pretend it’s okay.

The manager was just as disappointing. First, he claimed he couldn’t refund an item ordered through the app. Then he backpedaled and said he could “try” to process a refund — but it would take 3–5 business days. If the service is this bad, and you clearly know it, just refund the entire order and take accountability. Don’t play games.

Unacceptable quality, zero professionalism, and no regard for the customer’s time or money. Absolutely never coming back.

Also the bathrooms were disgusting.

I can’t blame the server I guess the service in the front was great. We got seated quickly and our waitress took our order quickly but then it took 45 minutes before we even saw any food! We waited, even asked to change our order to go because we would be late for an event. That made our order take longer. I asked for the manager and was told our food was coming out still nothing…. We ended up paying for our drinks and left.

My visit to this iHop location on 9/22/24 was phenomenal, & that’s because I had a wonderful waitress & I came to the location rather early that morning around 6:30AM. My waitress was Tyresha, who was very friendly & pleasant to work with. The food was cooked in a timely manner & tasted great, & because of Tyresha amazing communication skills & attitude. I will be attending again with friends & family.

My Order: Strawberry Thick ‘N Fluffy French Toast with a side of Bacon & Hash Browns.

Drink: Blue Raspberry Lemonade Splasher.

Descent place to eat, but service is very slow. Tables get cleaned but the flooring is neglected. A hot chocolate is ordered
, it was brought to us with the powder still at the bottom and we had to stir it ourselves. So far everything is disappointing. Food takes close to 40 minutes to be delivered for a table of 4. Plastic utensils are being used. Not looking to coming here ever again and would never recommend this place. Corporate needs to shut this place down until it can fully serve the community and its military service members that frequent this restaurant. Some greasy spooners have better service. You walk out of the restaurant and you are presented with the adorable smell of the dumpsters nearby.

I have also returned to the restaurant and I have seen some changes made, from my last visit. I would say now work on the attentive part and let the employees be more respectful and take correct orders as stated by the customer and accepted. While there, I witnessed at least two customers having issues and it’s all on their part of being attentive and thorough on their bill and questioning what is being charged.
As the owner, your goals can be met by hiring the right person and also assist in the kitchen as well, as many “I’m sorties” were being said during to long awaited meals.

My family & I stopped in for breakfast during traveling, the waitress was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and smell of the restaurant was very unsettling, upon using the women’s restroom it was a strong stench of urine. It seemed as if someone either mopped the floor with just water or something else, the greeters weren’t seeming very friendly so we did not bother saying anything. My hope is a staff member points it out, because it’s very disgusting

We were seated for about 22 minutes, no one came by to at least offer waters. The waitress with long green braids was rude and her tone was nasty/unprofessional when we asked her about our waiter and if we can at least have waters. Honestly very disappointed.

The food took FOREVER. It seems that door dash takes priority over in store customers. Restaurant bordered on clean. The ratty napkins under the table legs to stabilize the tables were a classy touch. The food wasn’t bad.
