The hibachi is absolutely delicious, the chefs are amazing cooks with great attitudes that truly make the experience. The atmosphere is very welcoming and fun, and the portion sizes are great. If you are of age, try the warm sake, it’s great.

Food and service would have gotten 4 stars but today we got a decent size take out order and the sushi was packed with hot food. We asked for another bag to put the cold food in and we got eyes rolled at us. Also, the salads we received were disgusting (see pics). No restaurant should serve something this bad. Brown slimy lettuce.

I have never left a review for a service before but I had to for my experience tonight. We have been coming to Yamato West for over 4 years and have always arrived on Tuesday nights by 7:45pm. Today was no different and we were sat by 8:15pm as expected. As the night went on we slowly realized that our waitress, Desiree was quite incompetent. We ordered our food at approximately 8:20pm and did not receive our food until approximately 10:05pm. We are not sure at what time, but Desiree had already left the building before we were able to ask her why our food was taking so long. We watched as party after party who arrived after received their food. Luckily, Jordan took very good care of us and was very apologetic of the whole situation. After being a loyal customer for over 4 years, I can confidently say that Desiree does not deserve the occupation given to her and should be reevaluated for her performance and competency as a server.

We loved coming here but lately the amount of food you get has been very limited very small portions and for the price we pay every one’s plate should be full. You get just as good food from the place in the lima mall and definitely get a lot more food and the price is so much cheaper. Hopefully the next time we go if we go the amount is much better. People work hard for their money keep your customers coming back go back to the bigger portions you used to.

What an excellent first time experience! Our cook, I wish I knew his name, was so awesome! He had us hysterically laughing the whole time he cooked for us, he incorporated my kids through the whole experience and i couldn’t have appreciated that more. The food….the food was absolutely delicious I cannot wait for our next visit!

We had ordered 2 Bento boxes tonight for our children. The rest of us was getting hibachi grill. They put the Bento boxes orders in before our guy came to do all 6 adults meals. 40 minutes after the guy finished our meals our children’s bento boxes was still not done. When spoke to manager she was extremely rude about it. Other tables was getting appetizers, sushi rolls and they had sat down right as we was finishing up. Manager just kept saying it was just due to it was “ Bento Boxes” so as the rest of family sat and was finished eating they finally brought out the 2 bento boxes! The manager handled the situation completely wrong and only gave us discount. In a good business they wouldn’t charged you at ALL for the Bento boxes when service was that bad and that long after 6 adults had finished meals and had to sit and wait for the 2 bento boxes meals to even be served! Bad service -5 star and -10 star for how managers handled situation.

Was pleasantly surprised with our 1st experience here. The parking lot and entrance was clean and well maintained, along with having handicapped parking, and doorways. The hostess/waitress immediately welcomed our party of 3 for dine in at the Hibachi Grill part of the restaurant. After being seated, the waitress took our drink orders, which were immediately delivered. Our wait for the Hibachi grill cook was only around 5 minutes. Upon his arrival, he immediately engaged our entire grill table in wonderful antics, pleasant dialog flowed smoothly throughout his performance while he artfully cooked our amazing, dinner. We were there around 5pm on a Saturday night, and by 6pm the place had begun to fill up rather quickly with new, and repeat customers, and each person was met with a warm and welcoming greeting. The food was not only artfully, and skillfully prepared, the flavors were distinct, and amazing. The price while a bit on the higher side of the scale, I do believe is perfectly fair, for the amount of food you recieve. This definitely will not be our only trip to this amazing, clean, well stocked, friendly, and superbly delicious restaurant!

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t wow. The calamari skewers were overcooked and tasted of old fry oil. The lobster rangoons were really yummy. The fried rice and Sriracha chicken were good, the meat was moist. My husband’s steak bento wasn’t bad and his sushi was pretty good. Mine was too dry and not spicy given the name it had. My stomach hurt pretty bad after a bit and I didn’t finish any of my food. The sake was good. Especially the white peach flavor.
Edit: my daughter and I went recently and had sushi rolls and dumplings. It was much better this time around. Updated to 4 stars.
