The service was great, the waitresses checked up on me a few times.
The restaurant was clean and kept up (they are a brand new restaurant) but the only complaint I have was it was too quiet. Needs some background music.
Overall, 9/10.
A great Japanese restaurant for our small rural area!
Three meat was tender and the katsu was super crispy. The vegetables were delicious, the noodles were lack luster but not offensive. Staff made a few minor errors but quickly corrected the issues without problem. Overall I’d definitely go again.
She took our order for a medium filet hibachi with rice and one sushi roll. We continued to sit at the table for another 15 minutes without drinks. The other perceptive server with blonde hair, kindly came up to us and said “I noticed you haven’t received any drinks yet, can I get you something”, and she immediately dropped off our water and coke. We appreciated her for paying attention. Our filet and fried rice finally came to the table, but not the sushi roll which we wanted together. We began to try the food but it was unseasoned, the filet was well done not medium, and the rice was cold.
We set it to the side and our server finally came back to the table, and I kindly explained the issues with the filet and said we did not want it. I told her we would just wait on the sushi roll and have that for our main meal. She apologized and took it away.
We waited over 10 more minutes for the sushi, and finally decided it was time to walk out and leave. We began to walk to the front and I told the server as nicely as possible, we have no more time to wait and have to leave. She looked at me, and said in a poor tone, “you need to talk to my manager before you leave.” First off I have no right to explain myself for walking out of a restaurant with poor food and service, but I kindly agreed and waited for the manager for 2 minutes to get off the phone. He asked me what the issues were, and I explained everything. The server told him I had been waiting awhile on the sushi, and he looked at the computer and said out loud “you just put that in a few minutes ago”, which told me she forgot to put half our order in, and was trying to cover her mistake.
To top it all off while dealing with this, the server pulled out her vape and hit it right in front of me, and then blew the smoke into the kitchen which is a major health violation. I finally walked away, and we took our business elsewhere. I hope to see the food quality and service improve here, since Covington does not have many culinary options, but at this time this place will not be getting our business.
So, I took a chance and ordered the lunch portion and was not too thrilled when I opened my take out box. When I arrived the food was just sitting on checkout counter — it was warm. This was mildly concerning because anyone could just walk up and take the order for their to go order mistakingly or not. I counted there were five pieces of steak (3 of which were fatty pieces) —SO 2 — and five pieces of chicken the rest veggies that seemed as if they were only somewhat steamed and not cooked all the way — as they were very crunchy. The best part about it was that the food was already ready when I came to pick it up and the fact that the rice was OK. I do understand this location just open however this was not a good first impression at all.
Additionally, customer service is huge for me and I was not greeted when I got to the counter I was only asked for my phone number.
