Who can resist a lively hibachi dinner, especially when it’s planned as a special outing? This visit to Yamato’s was extra meaningful because we were there with close friends and our boss, who personally selected the restaurant expecting a fantastic experience for all of us. As a group of five, we were happy to be seated fairly quickly, which immediately gave us a positive first impression and set the mood for a pleasant evening.

Our server, truly elevated the experience. He was friendly, professional, and consistently attentive throughout the night. Whether it was refilling drinks, checking on our preferences, or making sure everything was running smoothly, he handled it all effortlessly. His hospitality did not go unnoticed, and we sincerely appreciated the way he took care of our table.

The hibachi portion of the evening, however, didn’t quite match the high expectations we had—especially since this place was chosen to give our boss and friends a memorable time. While the chef cooked most of the dishes properly, the interactive and energetic performance that typically makes hibachi dining so enjoyable was somewhat lacking. He appeared disengaged, and the lively atmosphere we were hoping for just wasn’t fully there.

On the food side, most items were well-prepared and flavorful. The rice, vegetables, and other selections were seasoned nicely and tasted great. Unfortunately, the salmon was disappointing. It seemed to have been frozen and ended up burnt on the outside while remaining undercooked inside. The attempt to fix it did not improve it much, which slightly dampened the overall mood at the table.

We did appreciate the discount offered for the salmon, as it showed consideration and professionalism. Despite this hiccup, our overall fondness for Yamato’s remains. It’s still a place we enjoy, and we would be willing to return, hoping for a more engaging and flawless experience next time.

Who doesn’t love a good hibachi experience? That’s definitely us. We visited Yamato’s as a party of five and were seated fairly quickly, which was a great start.

Our server, Samir, was very hospitable and on top of everything the entire time—we truly appreciated his attentiveness and great service.

While our chef provided a decent overall experience, it did fall short of what we’re used to. He wasn’t very engaging and seemed like he would rather be anywhere else than at our table. Most of the food was cooked and seasoned perfectly, with the exception of the salmon. Unfortunately, it was clearly frozen and ended up being burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. The attempt to recook it only made things worse, and the experience noticeably went downhill from there.

That said, the discount we received for the salmon was appreciated. Despite this hiccup, it doesn’t change our overall love for Yamato’s, and we’ll certainly be back. If you’re in the area, it’s still a spot we highly recommend stopping by.

Took my 6 year old for her first time it was a awesome experience and she wants to come back now. We had a server named Tommy who was above and beyond. It was a overall awesome experience and I recommend the food and atmosphere.

Seems that all the recent review are 1 star for the dining experience instead of hibachi. It is the food. Noodles are terrible. I’ve been here before and enjoyed the dining experience. Must be new chef or management.

Next time you dine in, notice if it seems they boiled the noodles, put in a bowl then put soy sauce and serve. They do not fry off the excess water from the noodles. Hopefully more people review of the food so they can fix the issue.

We’ve been here a 5 times. This time it was 6 of us. Started out fine. Our chef Kimbo began with not funny dry jokes. My grandson and I had a combo with chicken. I’ve prob cut up 100 chickens. Kimbo spread out the breasts and one was cranberry colored. My grandson took a picture and we all commented on it. Kimbo ignored us and said good chicken. It was not on the birthday but was a birthday dinner so we didn’t want to wreck it. We told our hostess who was nice understanding. In the mean time Kimbo joked good chicken. No one ate the chicken. The manager said it was double marinated frozen from yesterday and refused to make adjustments. We also asked Kimbo to cut down using the teriyaki. He laughed good. In the end worst meal ever at a hibachi. Management took $4.00 off. Tip was automatically added. I wasn’t going to tip Kimbo 5 cents. Last time we eat there.

Watch out for the fire flash at the chef table – I saw 1 lady pass out & my baby was a bit too close when that happened, scaring him.
+ We love going here for a birthday as you get a free meal.
+ The steak, lobster, scallops, are worth it,
~ the rest is ok (shrimp, fried rice, sweet egg noodles, tiny salad and weird tasting soup)

Possibly the best food I’ve had in a while.
We had possibly the most skilled chef the world has seen, performing many cool tricks. He was very funny, and the food tasted amazing. The place was perfectly clean too, there was no dirty areas.
The place costed around $25 per person. You are sat with other people. Both of the groups we were sat with had birthday guests. One very kind person paid for everyone’s meal, and even gave us some candles. Walk-ins were allowed, I am unsure if reservations are possible. The restaurant had many different vegetarian options. It was somewhat difficult to find parking, since The Shops at Wiregrass was very busy. The kid’s menu had 3 items, those coming with noodles, fried rice, vegetables, and more.

The experience was a great one! We were able to get in fairly easily without a wait. The chef was able to cook our steak (we split a meal) separately mine was med rare and the other med well. Overall the service was great and fun! Didn’t get any alcoholic drinks there but the bar looked well stocked and drink menu filled with good options.

I wish I was able to give 0 Stars to this YAMATO RESTAURAT @ Wiregrass Mall. We went for dinner for my son’s birthday. He was splattered with oil in his eye from the chef cooking at the hibachi. I also found a piece of white plastic in my food , much like a plastic utensil.
So I immediately got up to speak to a supervisor. She told me that we will settle the bill later. When received the bill, we noticed that a gratuity was automatically placed on the bill and they took off my sons donner which was free anyway, due to their birthday special. But they no attempt to compensate us. In fact the asked for half the gratuity. This is the worst restaurant policy,I’ve ever heard of . When I called back and spoke to ERIC he hung up the phone on me when I was appaulled about the fact that they would not compensate us with the 60 $ that was left on the bill. Even after telling him that we have to take my son to an eye
