Let me start by saying we have eaten at many sushi restaurants. We are not familiar with Little Rock so we tried this little place. The entry has torn decals for their phone number, entry has a spring door that squeaks and slams shut like a cheap bar in a third world country. The floors are hideous and seriously need to be enameled or tiled. We ordered a bowl of Miso soup which tasted very salty and very poor quality so I sent it back. Then we had the shrimp tempura. It was somewhat ok but lacked salt or freshness. Geneen ordered chicken/beef Hibachi and was actually very good tasting to keep but Geneen didn’t like it. The seaweed salad was very mushy and tasted like it had metal in it and old. I had Salmon Sashimi and Salmon sushi. It tasted ok but not the best. I hope we don’t get food poisoning to be honest. I’m already taking charcoal and Oil of Oregano just in case. The sprite came in a can no glass of ice. The decor and atmosphere was like a third world country and not a pleasant clean place. The toilet had a wire coming out of the place where a handle would normally be. I’m not sure how this place will make it! We do not recommend eating here at all.

I’ve ordered here three times. The first time they barely gave me anything though I paid $15. The second time was on BiteSquad and they got the order ENTIRELY wrong. Tonight I ordered and this is what I received. I got veggies instead of soup and instead or rice. This is barely a single serving, let alone three servings of veggies. I’ll be looking for a better restaurant!

The sushi was good. I would like the option of adding extra sauces on the side. It’s really dark on the inside but I would try again.

Tonight we celebrated my birthday here and were very pleased. The place is not in the fanciest building but it is more than adequate. I feel the reviews above who’s main complaints are with the atmosphere are too harsh. The ambiance is fine especially considering the price of the food. Let me be very clear when I say that mediocrity ends there. First off, the food is excellent and authentic. We ordered the spring rolls, kani salad, miso soup, Yamato roll, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and Philadelphia roll. ALL of the food was wonderful. The couple who seems to own the place, cook and serve the food, and check you out at the end were absolutely delightful and charming. We experienced expedient and enthusiastic service and a delicious meal. This place is a winner and we will be going back.

If I could leave zero stars, I would, and I’m mad at myself for not reading reviews before ordering from here.
ETA: My husband has food poisoning from this whole experience.
I ordered takeout for myself and my husband this evening and picked it up at approx 6:30pm. After opening the sushi to eat, we discovered that it tasted as if the rice and raw fish had both gone bad and could not eat it. I called the restaurant to let them know, and when the girl who answered the phone told the owner (her dad), he started yelling. I sat for a couple of minutes, listening to him yell in the background before I offered to bring the food back to them for a refund. When I arrived back to the restaurant, I was informed that since we had taken bites (one of which I spit back out in the tray because it was so gross) that we would only receive a partial refund. The owner spent the majority of my return visit yelling and hollering, throwing his hands around because I brought the food back. Since returning home, I have felt sick from the three bites of sushi I ate. In checking reviews for the restaurant after the fact, I discovered that this is a regular occurrence (old food being re-served) and pictures of the filthy dining room as well as a picture of a rat behind a booth. I don’t know how or why this restaurant has not been shut down.

Staffs were nice but sushi rolls were tasteless. Not that they tasted bad but just doesn’t taste anything like seafood. All I tasted was cucumber and cream cheese. We went for dinner but the lights were barely on and it was kind of scary. Maybe this place has different atmosphere during the day ?

Service was absolutely fantastic! We went in on off hours, so service was not a factor at all. Sushi was okay, not the best I’ve ever had but definitely not the worst. We don’t live close to here, so probably won’t be back, but it is worth a try if you are in the area and looming for something new. The ginger dressing was good, but the Miso Soup…not so much.

We ate here Saturday 3-11-23 after a softball tournament was rained out. Staff was sweet, but the food could have been a lot better! And we wouldn’t have ate here if we would have seen the rat before hand!! It wasn’t a small one either!

Excellent food! Some of the best hibachi food I’ve had. They don’t cook in front of you, but the food quality was excellent. Soda is served in cans though, and no glasses provided which was just a little weird. But overall, a wonderful experience. We will be back!!!

I ordered by phone . By the time I arrived to pick it up 15 mins. My plate was cold. I ordered fried rice no veggies and teriyaki chicken. Instead I got two orders of steamed rice and a fried egg. The chicken was decent. I have been eating at Yamato for years and have always enjoyed the food and service until today. Maybe it was just a rough day for them. Or maybe I had a rough day and I am being too hard of a critic. I’m gonna say that today was an unpleasant experience but not so much that I won’t go back and give it another try.
