I’ve drive by this place for years and have always wanted to try it. I must say, they make some legit teriyaki. It has a great char and flavor. The house fried rice is also very good, lots of meats. My favorite is chicken katsu and theirs is fantastic.

The teriyaki sauce is not too sweet (which is a good thing), i love that its already stir fried in some and they give you more on the side. I hate places that drench the chicken in sugary sauce after.

The market side is cool too. Lots of fun snacks in the hot food section, especially spam musubi’s!

I’m staying at the hotel just across the street, and I couldn’t resist stopping by this gem! Let me tell you, it was an absolute thrill! I ordered the Chicken & Katsu along with a side of egg rolls, and wow, did it blow me away!

The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection! Instead of drowning in teriyaki sauce, it had this fantastic coating that gave it an incredible sweet teriyaki flavor while keeping it moist and packed with that delicious wok taste.

And the katsu? Oh my goodness! It was breaded to perfection, delivering that legendary Katsu crunch in every single bite! The in-house-made Katsu sauce added just the right touch of sweetness, making it an unbeatable combination.

As for the egg rolls, they were pure bliss! Crispy, crunchy, and bursting with flavor, they absolutely hit the spot!

I can’t recommend this place enough! You have to check it out!

First time coming by & what a nice surprise. We were greeted right away by the [i presume] owner & chef. Ordered our dishes & received them very quickly. The lady who brought them out was also very friendly & warm. They explained to me that all sauces are made in house & no MSG. I like MSG but that’s besides the point haha.

We ordered the basics; spicy teriyaki & chicken katsu. We loved it & had to ordered another dish. It’s a lowkey, no frills place with good food & nice people running it. I’m excited to go back & try more food.

Friendly ,generous, attentive service,

but the food is not that great. Actually I would consider it Awful.
Small portions, too expensive, over priced for the amount of food you get.

Entrance to the eating lounge is thru the mini mart.
Hopefully this not good food was one time experience, but their very high price, is a cost prohibitive to come try again, plus, I don’t want to put good hard earned money on most likely will be bad food.

There other Teriyaki places in the same area serve much much better Teriyaki food for a lot less cost.

Plus the location is very dangerous, and deceiving. It looks open parking lot with easy access, and corner parking lot.

But once you get in that parking lot, then trying to get out, and exit , then you realized how dangerous really dangerous the curve around the parking lot, cars are coming at high rate of speed constantly, mostly Costco, and Home depot traffic, and they are like a river of fast cars . To get out safely either you have to speed really fast and jump in front of those fast coming cars , and get them upset, and honk at you, or go on same direction for a while to make a safe UTurn. Not only that because the parking lot is on, and around the corner, and there are trees, , so you don’t get to see far away from the curve, and there are blind spots, and blind corners.

I wonder how come no accident happened at this junction.
That’s why I say exiting this parking lot is dangerous during busy business hours

Yamada Teriyaki in Southcenter isn’t just serving fried rice—they’re crafting culinary magic in a takeout box. If you’ve ever suffered through soggy, protein-starved fried rice elsewhere, prepare for redemption. Their fried rice is a masterclass in texture and balance, with every grain distinct, fluffy, and infused with savory goodness. No mushiness here—just wok-kissed perfection that crackles with energy.

Chicken was soft and moist, but that was the only good thing. Rice was dry and had a weird taste, was not proper sticky white rice, I could only stand two bites. The sauce was the worst part. There was a strange off-putting sweet smell emanating from all of it. Almost like hot apple Cider? Anyways, it’s not good for teriyaki.

Had chicken fried rice, it has lots of flavor really yummy. Sometimes the rice can be bland but this had plenty of seasoning. Little older shop but clean so that’s what matters. Glad I found it.

Popped in on a whim and will now return every time I’m in Tempe area. The food was fresh, flavorful and generous portions. The fried rice was heavenly as was the chicken teriyaki. What prompted me to leave a review was the incredible service. Extremely attentive and kind
