YamaChen Sushi continuously seeks ways to offer delicious tasting Japanese cuisine in an inviting and warm atmosphere. We started as a family business that first opened our door in 2003. Calling ourselves as just Yama at the time, we only had four tables, truly being just a hole in the wall. Through an arduous process of many trial and errors, Andy Chen was able to perfect the now YamaChen menu to that we know today. Each day, for our customers, Andy Chen brainstormed ways to improve the quality of our food, from our in house sauce to our fish providers, creating the signature YamaChen rolls that solidifies our place in the restaurant sphere. He believes that his success is due to his motto: Freshness, Sincerity, and Generosity.

Wow!!! everything was delicious.
Got the iron man sushi platter it was great the gyoza was so crunchy and flavorful, loved the vibe.
They even gave us a FREE PLATTER of vegetable spring rolls and then two tiny cheesecake bites for us!!!

Very friendly service. Place just opened after over a year of construction. I’ve been to other locations before and loved it. We got offered 30% off right after sitting. We got free salads, spring rolls, and dessert.
All was good, except the sushi rolls ☹️
All about the rice. The rice was too wet, warm and too much, ruined it. Ingredients did seem to be fresh. This was the first time in many many years that I didn’t finish and left sushi behind. Once they get that under control, they should be good. I definitely give them some time before attempting to ho back.

Yama Chen is a new place. Every place needs to fall into it’s niche with it’s patrons. If you are looking for a traditional sushi place you may have mixed feelings. This place is all about sushi rolls. They have varieties of it here some sashimi as well. The atmosphere is minimalist but cozy. The rolls we ordered had just the right amount of rice. Some may prefer thick Do mention and they can oblige. The cucumber salad was so refreshing and good I ordered it twice and added a bit of soy sauce and it was heavenly. The spring rolls are also good. Overall the taste, freshness, simplicity, and their prices will have us visit soon. Other than soy sauce dishes that need to be on the table and perhaps a little colder rice on the rolls and slightly warmer miso which are minor it was a great experience. The staff was super attentive. They are trying hard to impress and I think with a little tweaking they have it down. Give this place a try and see for yourself. You will be impressed by it’s simplicity and offerings….

WOW! Overall, I’d give it 10 stars if I could, we were treated so well and our host was very attentive & sweet. Definitely a treasure in Vienna. Food was excellent! We had the pork and beef ramen, it’s all in the broth – rich and delicious and not over seasoned/salted – I prefer the rich bone flavor to compliment the other ingredients. Great presentation! Rolls were tasty and simple, not drowned in sauce so the flavor of the ingredients stand out, love it. We got the Philly Roll, Dream Roll and warm Shrimp Tempura (we hadn’t had one warmed before and really like it this way). We also had the Gyoza perfectly crisped and tasty. Cheesecake with a hint of floral notes although we thought it was plain cheesecake, nice surprise. My new place, can’t wait to go back! We stopped in here after a bike ride on the trail and warmed & stuffed our bellies and got more than we expected with such a warm welcome! Thanks, Yama Chen ♥️

I went to YamaChen Sushi for the first time and it was everything I was craving for and more. The 2 for 1 sushi roll combo were a reasonable price and even more delicious. The staff was wonderful. So wonderful that I would return to this place solely based off the kindness and welcoming nature of the staff. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. I can’t wait to return!

My partner and I came while on our way to NY and we loved it. The place it’s beautiful and the food is very tasty. We had the ramen and sushi and loved both. They also give you edamames, try sushi and little dessert bites on the house.
