Sushi was padded with extra rice, Globs of mayo, not at all what was expected. Fish felt room temp and not fresh. Wife’s roll came out completely wrong, and by the time I received it, I was already done eating. Probably would of ordered more had I not seen the all the reviews about food poisoning.

Ordered the shrimp tempura and dragon roll. The shrimp was burnt and overcooked. Have pictures to add.. don’t advise coming during lunch or dinner was horrible

We went here to try their 9pm happy hour. Honestly, we’re glad we did, because the overall quality wasn’t great. A big red flag for a sushi place is when the salmon sashimi isn’t good, and unfortunately that was the case here.

About 80% of the menu leans spicy, with limited variety overall. They also focus heavily on creamy rolls, which ended up being the only decent options. On top of that, every dish was overloaded with rice, which really took away from the experience. The beef side dish was also disappointing — the texture was chalky and the flavor wasn’t very good.

We go to a few other AYCE sushi spots regularly, and this was by far the least satisfying. I don’t want to be overly harsh since the service wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either.

Other things that hurt the experience were the disposable chopsticks, plastic sauce cups (used even for ice cream), and generally cheap presentation. It was also noticeably not crowded, even late in the evening during happy hour, which kind of said it all.

Atmosphere was really chill. Food was great as the service. Got seated quickly. Staff was very friendly and everyone greeted us. The environment gave more of a relax feeling not like the one on spring mountain where the pace is faster. Both location is good but this one on rainbow was more chill. Could take our time without knowing people was waiting outside. Didn’t feel rush at all. Menu was pretty much similar as the other location. Will be back again!

This was my final visit to Yama Sushi. The service continues to get worse every time I come, and this experience sealed it. We were never asked if we wanted anything to drink, and despite there being only three tables occupied, the wait times between interactions were extremely long.

To make matters worse, my brother witnessed a cook leave the bathroom without washing his hands, which was honestly disturbing and unacceptable in a restaurant.

On top of the terrible service, there were yet another set of additional charges added to the bill, with little to no explanation. We were also told that certain items couldn’t be ordered during lunch, even though that has never been the case on previous visits. The inconsistency and lack of transparency are frustrating.

Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. I will never be returning. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid this location

Worst service I have received in years.
Party of 8, two people ordered soup within 10 minutes of being seated. Person 1 received their soup in about 5-10 minutes. Person 2, only received there soup after asking 4 times for it, and everyone else had already not only received their food, but finished eating it as well, well over an hour into being seated. Person 2 ordered only 1 appetizer and the soup so ate nothing while everyone else had their food.
About 45 minutes in person 2 asked for a sushi roll, as everyone else was getting their rolls at a fairly quick pace. At the same time person 2 ordered their roll, another person in our party ordered 3 rolls.
That person received all 3 of their rolls before person 2 ever received a single thing to eat.
Would absolutely not return after this experience.

Love Yama sushi!!! Brought my family here last night (Saturday night) and the service was fast and friendly.

Got a huge order of Garlic Tuna and Super White Tuna nigiri (my favorites), Hamachi Kama, Spider roll, special Yobo roll (baked roll), salmon skin hand roll and a palm job.

For dessert, we got pistachio ice cream (highly recommended) and chocolate mochi ice cream. I will definitely bring my family here more often. They enjoyed everything!

I’ve been driving from Utah to yamas for 20 years. This was the worst location and sushi experience. Ever. The rice was so dry the rolls wouldn’t stay together at all and had so much rice on every roll. Anything fried was so incredibly thick and gross. My son got a la cart fried rice and other items. They originally thought he was all you can eat and brought a tiny portion. But I got charged full price on everything. 150$ meal that was so bad we barely ate anything… Go to spring mountain if you want a good Yama Sushi experience..

Definitely the worst sushi I’ve had in town by far. Went in at 6pm and we were the only table there which should have been our red flag to leave. Our server was nice but very slow and forgetful — I never got the soup I asked for multiple times and I received my soda at the very end of the meal and had maybe 2 sips of it. The sushi was so mushy it would fall apart whenever we picked it up. Maybe the other locations are better but this one needs to work. At 7:30 when we left there was only 1 other table seated in the whole restaurant.
