Ordered the Syracuse house special roll as recommended by the waitress. It was served with a side of wasabi and some very vibrant pink picked ginger. Although the roll didn’t look like a roll, it was still flavorful and delicious! I ordered it with my usual nigori cold unfiltered sake, which although the only brand they had on hand at the time was a bit on the sweet side, was still enjoyable. I also finished up with a last minute order of my favorite mackerel sushi, although I forgot to take a pic of the two pieces before devouring it. Theirs was definitely better than average as it was flavored with a slight smoky grilled flavor which was unique and made it taste very high end.
I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip to Fallbrook!
Also the bathrooms were clean and scented well!

Great fish great service. Steve is awesome! I am so happy we don’t have to drive far to find good fish. I do wish they had Ankimo! 🙂

This was the first time I have tried this place. It was clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming even though I don’t wear a mask. No judgment just service! The beef and chicken yakisoba was delicious. We had the dragon roll and shrimp tempura roll. The dragon roll was fantastic, for me being a newbie to sushi! Highly recommend this local place. Great quality of fish and shrimp. Noodles tasty and decent prices for quantity.

I recommend the Oh Yeah roll. It’s the one of the only reasons I’d go to Fallbrook. So delicious and filling. Everyone there is friendly. My food was served fast. I couldn’t finish my Miso Ramen so server put in to go container for me. That is also a delicious dish there too. And it’s huge. Highly recommend if you’re in or passing through Fallbrook and are craving Sushi and or Ramen.
*I ate a few pieces of my roll before I realized I needed to take a picture*

Best spicy tuna roll you can get in town! If you’re craving sushi, this spot will satisfy your craving. I cannot speak for the entire menu, but the spicy tuna roll is good — fresh, not too spicy, and tasty rice with the correct ratio. Glad I finally tried this location!
Also, super friendly staff that greet you and say goodbye — very much a mom and pop friendly type feel.

I love Yama Sushi. Steve and the crew are always welcoming. Their Sushi is my favorite. I go to sushi all over and I still feel like I am always impressed when I go there, which is about 2-3 times a week (I know, a lot!) The Syracuse roll is one of my favorite (hold the salmon for me LOL). The Ex-Girlfriend is also amazing and refreshing. Japanese Nachos are the perfect starter. GOSH I just love all their rolls.

Look, there’s other places in Fallbrook to get $18 worth of a good meal. I ordered a bento box and this is what I got…. salad doesn’t cost that much, rice doesn’t cost that much and miso soup definitely doesn’t cost that much so you make up for it with the protein. I’m extremely disappointed bc even after I called to ask if this was the right amount of meat the host said yes and that they weigh 5oz. And to enjoy. This is just ridiculous. Wouldn’t recommend not even for the sushi if they treat customers like this. And no I didn’t eat anything when I took this photo.

Yikes. Came in for a bite to eat during happy hour. Before I start the gentleman in the kitchen was coughing, loudly, and did not cover his mouth or wash his hands. Started with the Karage chicken – almost chipped a tooth on a bone. It was dry, tasteless and sad really. Sent it back as it was inedible. Sushi was tasty. Got the tuna and the eel. When I got the check, there was no discount for happy hour. Turns out you have to spend over $45 dollars to get the discount. Pricey for what you get. Overall this place needs work. The food is good but the rest isn’t.

Pretty good sushi for Fallbrook. What made it was the incredible roll I had, which sadly I can’t remember the name. But ingredients were very fresh and high quality. Friendly staff, very small intimate setting, nit a lot of tables, but never typically packed unless on weekend occasionally.

The food is prepared with care and respect for sushi-making craft.
I had the yellowtail sashimi the last time I was there. The fish was fresh and smelled fantastic.
