Second-Best Thai Restaurant in LA!
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Their crispy pork with basil leaves was absolutely outstanding—easily the best I’ve found in the U.S.! The pork was perfectly crispy and flavorful, making it a must-try dish.
I also try their stir-fried water spinach and tom yum soup. The stir-fried water spinach had a delightful smoky flavor and was cooked to perfection, with the ideal texture and temperature. As for the tom yum, it was decent, but nothing extraordinary compared to the other dishes.
The service was exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, I forgot to get the name of the server who took care of us, but she did an excellent job and made the experience even better.
A quick note: This restaurant only accepts cash payments, so plan accordingly!

Loved our lunch here! We ordered 3 dishes and were impressed with them all. Super authentic Thai food with quick and friendly service. Our waitress was very nice and packed our to-go boxes for us, she even gave us extra sticky rice to take home!

11/21/22: TLDR: Go down the street to Torung, Pailin Thai, or Chuan Chim for better food at half the price. Details: I ordered the Crispy Catfish. The waiter asked if I wanted rice, and I said yes. The catfish was good but the bill came and turns out they charged $3 for the side of rice. For a hole in the wall type of place, $20.75 for catfish (literally the cheapest fish you can buy) and rice with no vegetables or anything else, just doesn’t make sense.

We had a FEAST at Yai! I’m surprised it doesn’t have good amount of reviews. Amazing flavors, vegeterian curry and delicious duck curry! I had the Nam Tok Beef salad and the taste was out of this world! My taste buds were going crazy!!! Try the shrimp soup too!

Authentic Thai food in Thai town so happy I was introduced to this hidden gem by a friend
In Thai, ‘Yai’ means grandma & the name is so fitting as the food was so comforting and legit.

️Ordered:
1. BBQ pork
2. Tom kha gai (hot & sour chicken soup w/ coconut milk)
3. Pad see ew w/ shrimp
Every dish was exploding with flavor & I loved how they all complemented each other. The bbq pork was my favorite which is surprising bc I don’t love pork! The sauce that it was paired with was just so delicious
The Tom kha gai was super creamy and just tangy enough. It’s the perfect dish to have on a cold day ☺️
Tips:
-bring cash!! This spot is cash ONLY
-there is a small parking lot so if you go on a weekday it’s pretty easy to find parking
Price:
$56/meal

The food here is pretty authentic for LA Thai food, and the waitresses are really nice. Also, everything came quickly from the kitchen. When you take into account that everything everywhere has gotten more expensive lately, I think the prices are pretty fair. They only take cash though so be prepared for that.

This is probably my favorite Thai place now. Their Chinese sausage and pork fried rice was so flavorful that we ate the entire plate, and their pad see ew is one of the best in town. The soup was a little salty but still good!
Cash only so don’t forget.

Best Thai Fried rice in a while! I ordered the a combination chicken & beef to go. Delicious, not dry or bland at all! I used to go to Torung , but the quality of their food has gone down hill. I think I found my new Favorite Thai restaurant. Food portion was great❤️

Don’t let the entrance fool you. This place served really great Thai foods. I went there and had shrimp tom yum along with shrimp fried rice with curry. The tom yum was delicious. The balance between the heat and sour was on point. The fried rice was creamy. The fried rice was slightly bland, but it came with salty pepper dip of some sort, so dipping the shrimp there occasionally made it perfect.
Do beware that the restroom was a bit dirty, and they only accepted cash.
