Went here for weekday lunch for the current promotion of $19.99 lunch buffet and really enjoyed it! The staff are kind and service is very welcoming and friendly. The buffet has good variety and options for vegetarians and meat enjoyers alike. While it was not the best Indian food I’ve had, it was certainly all very tasty and certainly good for the price point as well. The buffet even included tea. I hope that they consider keeping this lunch buffet price beyond the listed date in the promotion because it would make them a strong contender as a competitive lunch buffet option in Rockville which there don’t seem to be many of. Bombay Bistro stopped theirs a while ago I think.

YAAR Spice at Holi DC Festival – Review

If you’re ever lucky enough to catch YAAR Spice — whether at a pop-up like the Holi DC Festival or their brick-and-mortar location — go for it!

My friend and I stopped by their booth today, and everything about the experience was phenomenal. You could feel the good energy immediately — every single staff member, from the cooks to the servers, greeted us with huge smiles. They even made my service dog, Handsome, feel welcome, which meant a lot. The service was not just friendly; it was genuinely warm and made us want to stick around longer.

I ordered the biryani and veggie samosas, and wow — the flavors were incredible. Perfectly spiced without being overwhelming. They also surprised us with fresh roti and a variety of dipping sauces to try for free, which was such a generous touch. Everything tasted authentic and homemade — you can tell they put real heart into their food. I believe they mentioned they’re originally from Mumbai, and it shows in the care and flavors of every dish.

The whole vibe was joyful and welcoming, fitting perfectly with the spirit of Holi. Great food, great people, and unforgettable energy. Can’t wait to visit their permanent location soon!

Highly recommend — five stars all the way.

Came for weekday lunch buffet. Solid selection of the usual dishes. Heat was low (no vindaloo) and flavors were solid. I especially enjoyed the dal and goat curry. Service was very attentive and naan was fresh and included.

Family enjoyed food. Son particularly liked the samosas, and daughter focused on the tandoori chicken.

Got here early, good crowd formed as we ate.

Excellent food and service! We went for dinner. The portions are very reasonable, and they even gave us extra rice. Oh! And I loved the creamed spinach. The curry was delicious and I’m sure to come again!

Loved their goat curry! I’m not a fan of goat but they did a great job cooking it with the right amount of spices! A little pricey but worth it. I am looking forward to going back.

Good service, good food, good atmosphere. Naan is served fresh table side, drinks are included, explosions of colors and flavors in all dishes, and they had great machai tea! My wife, however, thought she had better and docked a star. So it’s a 3 star. I wasn’t about to argue with her on this topic. Nom Nom Nom!

This is the most authentic Indian restaurant in town! I was getting disappointed with blend flavors in other Indian restaurants, but this restaurant really delivered. Indian spicy was actually Indian spicy.
