The nigiri was the highlight — thick cuts of fish, clean flavors, and beautifully plated. You can really see and taste the freshness. The salmon was buttery and smooth, the tuna was vibrant and meaty, and the white fish options were delicate and clean with no fishy aftertaste. I also loved the variety of toppings like ikura, uni, wasabi, and light garnishes that elevated each piece instead of overpowering it.
What stood out most was that the fish-to-rice ratio was on point. The rice was lightly seasoned and not packed too tightly, which made each bite really enjoyable. Even after multiple rounds, the quality stayed consistent, which is rare for AYCE.
Service was attentive and efficient — plates came out steadily without long waits, and staff checked in often to make sure we were good. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the meal.
Overall, this is a great spot if you want AYCE sushi that actually feels premium. Amazing value for the quality you’re getting, and I’d definitely come back when I’m craving good nigiri without compromising freshness.
The service at this branch is top notch with waiters and food coming by constantly. Unlike the other one in Brea where the wait for food is extremely long, the sushi here comes within 10-15 minutes of ordering. The decor is similar to the other one being bright and natural.
The definite order dishes are the tuna tartare, bluefin tuna and carpaccio. The rest are to your liking with a limit of 20 pieces per round for 3 rounds. If you are still hungry after that, then scan the QR code and start ordering the rolls and kitchen dishes.
The baked mussel tasted like a hamburger with all that sauce on it. That sauce was on a lot of things and I don’t quite think it goes in this type of cuisine.
The baked scallops were a bit undercooked.
We also had udon wasn’t quite as tasteful as your local spot near you. Really thought a place like this would have more taste.
However what I did like that I order was the X Fish roll , Vegas Roll , chicken Karaage and of course the garlic Edamame
The restaurant has a nice interior.
Service was pretty fast. Good thing it’s small.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a casual meal with friends or family.
My server Ryan was awesome!!!
If you’re in Buena Park and craving fresh, high-quality seafood, Xfish is an easy recommendation. Definitely coming back!
Service was prompt. We came in right at opening and got seated promptly for a group of 12.
We were quoted a 20-30 minute wait for a party of 5 (3 adults & 2 infants) which actually took over an hour.
When we were finally seated it took a while for our food to come. They have you order both via a paper slip and a QR code for appetizers and special rolls.
The udon and ramen came out first and they were decently tasty. The sushi from the paper came and was pretty decent. We had ordered 8 rolls between 3 very hungry adults and two (free) kids. Someone (presumably from the kitchen) came to tell us that we ordered too much food and that they have a strict leftover policy and told us to cross some rolls off the paper he brought out. No one ever came back to take our roll order.
The wait between the paper orders felt hella long. At least 20 minutes for each “round” and then when I asked if I could order a fourth round of sushi they told us we ran out of time. We had not eaten a lot, missed a whole round of rolls, and were generally unimpressed by the service.
We had to ask for every little thing. Water, napkins, forks. We had two children with us and since they were under 39″ tall they ate for free. But since they weren’t considered paying customers they didn’t give the kids plates or utensils? And when the check came they definitely charged us the service fee for parties of 5 or more.
We tried to pay with preloaded Visa Debit cards and they said they didn’t accept “gift cards” and again, they charged us a service fee for parties of 5 or more even though it was 3 paying adults, a 2-year old and 11-month old, and frankly the worst service I’ve had in a long time.
They get one star for the peppered salmon nigiri and one star for the unagi nigiri. But I will never be coming back here again if I can help it.
The ambiance is nice and clean if you don’t mind the long waits, terrible service and poor attitudes of servers/hosts. Bussers were fine.
In general, Aiken Sushi has been a consistently superior AYCE dining experience with better staff, better variety, better service.
