So we were three people in total and two of us were there first. The waitress placed us at a 4-person table. The table looks quite small but should be fine if each of us order a bibimbap or stu. However, we know we were there to order a big casserole and big bar food, therefore obviously it was not enough room.
There were more than 70% of tables empty at the time, so I went to the waitress and asked whether we have the bigger table (6-person table). The waitress told me they did not prefer to do so. And then I said the table is too small for us three people. The waitress told me she thought it was good enough for us. I said I don’t think so. And then she looked at me, said “fine”, and walked away.
It ended up the whole 6-person table was fully occupied with the casserole, bar food, and small dishes. And the waitress did not place the casserole in the middle but at the edge of the table, which I had to move it to the middle.
I don’t think I am a demanding customer but obviously this made me a bad experience from the beginning of the dinner. If it were not because of we were meeting a friend at that restaurant, I would have walked away immediate after the waitress said “I think it is good enough for you.”
Food was good including a very fresh and young kitchen, delicious fishcakes and wonderful soy sauce infused peppers!
The Guk was great! Flavorful with plenty of pork meat and spices. On top of that the service was phenomenal.
Will come back to try other dishes and recommend you try this place out.
We came here for lunch on a Sunday. The place is a bit small and difficult to spot, located at the back of the building (at the bottom of the hill), at the corner next to a MMA gym, with the entrance located behind the only tree next to the building. There is free parking both in front and behind the building, though the back of the building is less busy since the front faces the rest of the shopping center. For those who park in the front, there are stairs on the side of the building (not the one next to the main road) that lead down to where the restaurant is. I’m not sure if there’s an elevator.
The inside is very open and bright, with one short wall and some potential wooden hanging dividers. There are about 14 tables ranging from 2-6 people capacity. The aisles between tables are pretty big since they use carts to deliver food. There is a pretty obvious sign in front of the seating area that states that plastic bags ($0.10) and takeout containers ($0.05) are an extra charge. There are two bathrooms in the back, one male and one female.
The staff were friendly and polite but not very attentive. We mainly saw them when ordering and delivering food but that was it. They didn’t refill the waters and people had to flag them down for the check when they came by delivering food for other people. They were not very proactive.
To start off the food, they give you 10 free small appetizer plates: beansprouts, broccoli & carrot, egg rolls, seaweed, kimchi, barley wheat jello, spicy pepper, soy onion & garlic, miso cabbage, and spicy cucumber. You can request free refills for these 10 plates.
We ordered a good variety of food. My favorite was definitely the La Short Ribs, very tender and easy to eat. I would say the best korean short ribs I’ve tried so far. The seafood pancake was good though a bit too wet, not crispy. The Jokbal was subpar and you could get better at Lotte Market, which says a lot. The Beef Bibimbap and the Chik Naengmeyon were both very good.
Overall, good food and minimal service. May or may not come again.
BTW, Woo Ri Jib translates to OUR HOUSE in Korean.
