Excellent! We were wowed by the delicious quality food and dining experience here. From the big portions of smoked ribs and perfect potato salad, to the house made sausages and smoky pimento cheese, and then the wow factor crusted goat cheese salad with candied jalapeños, berries, and house made fig jam. The staff were nice and the place was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back soon to try other menu items!

Our visit to Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama was an unforgettable day from start to finish. We started the morning by renting e-bikes from a local company called Paradise Pedal LLC, and it could not have gone more smoothly. The owner was one of the kindest and most accommodating people we met on our trip. He helped us get set up with two great little carriages for our three-year-old and seven-year-old, gave us a wonderful deal, and even delivered the bikes right to us so we could start our ride at the park. That kind of personal touch really made the experience special.

The e-bikes were in perfect condition and a total blast to ride. The park itself has miles of smooth trails that wind through some of the most beautiful scenery in the area. We passed lakes, boardwalks, shaded paths, and open views that made every turn feel like a new photo opportunity. The kids had the best time riding in the carriages, and we all loved how easy the e-bikes made it to explore without wearing ourselves out. It was peaceful, fun, and such a unique way to take in everything the park has to offer.

After our ride, we stopped at Woodside Restaurant, which is located right inside the park, and it was the perfect ending to our adventure. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it has that relaxed Southern charm that makes you want to sit back and stay awhile. We ordered cheeseburgers for the kids, and I have to say they were some of the best cheeseburgers we have ever had anywhere along the Gulf Coast. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The kids devoured them. The housemade potato chips were another highlight — crispy, golden, and addictive. We honestly could have eaten a whole extra bowl just of those chips alone.

Everything about the experience at Woodside was top notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food came out quickly, and the quality was far beyond what you would expect for a park restaurant. It felt like a hidden gem tucked inside this gorgeous natural setting.

Between the scenic ride through Gulf State Park, the outstanding service from Paradise Pedal LLC, and the delicious meal at Woodside Restaurant, our day could not have been more perfect. If you are visiting Gulf Shores, I highly recommend doing exactly what we did — rent your e-bikes from Paradise Pedal LLC, explore the trails at Gulf State Park, and finish the day with cheeseburgers and chips at Woodside. You will not regret it.

Great place right in the state park. We went from our campsite by bike. You never leave the trail going there. Great happy hour, food, and live music on the weekends. We went twice during out time there. We will be going again for sure on our next trip to Gulf Shores.

Overall, it’s a great spot to grab a bite after a hike or bike ride. I ordered a Caesar salad, which tasted good, but was surprised to be charged $8 for a small piece of chicken—making the total around $20. That felt a bit steep. Also, it’s unclear whether you’re supposed to grab your own utensils and napkins or if the staff provides them. The outdoor seating area is really nice and adds to the experience.

Delicious food and beautiful park! Smokehouse Club Sammie and fresh Kettle chips with Christmas tunes playing low. Check out Eagles Nest Cabins when you’re over this way. Touring the park trails via ebike is crazy fun!

Had the Brisket burnt ends gravy breakfast, with eggs and cheese, potatoes, and a pancake side. This was hands down the best gravy I’ve ever eaten. The pancakes were cooked perfectly as were the eggs and potatoes. All for a great price. We will make this a stope every time we are in the area.

Great staff with big smiles and good food!! Came here just for “the best Club Sandwich” in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Perdido Key!! Situated in a state park, this gem is off the beaten path and worth a quick lunch! Burger, Club Sandwich, and to be honest, the best dang grilled chicken sandwich in the southeast!

Exceptional American fair eatery tucked back in Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama. For our lunch visit we clearly over ordered as the portions are oversize. We had the Rattlesnake Ridge salad, chicken wings and an afternoon special. The restaurant has an open dining room with plenty of seating. The walk up counter makes it easy to order and view the menu.
The atmosphere is charming, rustic, clean and cool when it is hot outside.
They have a nice outdoor seating area with patio lights that would be nice for evenings as long as you bring your bug spray. They have some activities, such as cornhole, badminton, and other games. It appears they also offer live music.
There is plenty of parking and if you feel up to it, ride your bike
Highly recommended

We stayed in the cabins at the park for a week. Every day we had a wonderful breakfast at Woodside, fresh food and reasonably priced (especially at half-price, which came with staying in the cabins.) But the best part was the staff: Stephanie and Emma are delightful and were one of the reasons we came back every day. They are friendly, very customer-service oriented and a lot of fun!

We stopped at this spot for lunch after the arts festival in the park nearby. It was delicious – we split a salad and a chicken club sandwich. Honestly both were better than I anticipated. Super fresh and quality. You order at a counter and they give you a number to put on your table. You can pick between indoor, covered patio, or outdoor. Super nice spot – staff were friendly and came around occasionally to tidy up the other tables. Overall worth stopping by!
