Delicious and Incredible BBQ worth going out of your way for in Columbus, TX!
We got the rib plate and a brisket sandwich. Ribs may have been the best we have ever had and are a must order. The brisket would go toe to toe with any other joint.

Hands down the best bbq place around! I’ve tried several bbq places around here and there’s nothing that compares to this. The brisket melts in your mouth, the ribs have immaculate flavor and all the sides were on point. Not to mention the low price versus the generous portion sizes. Owner is welcoming and friendly! If you’re ever in town this is the place to go for great quality food. 11 out of 10

Passing by Columbus and was craving for some local BBQ. We had high expectations due to 5 star reviews from other people.
We ordered All-Meat, which has brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage. Then 3 sides, which includes potatoes, beans and smoked cabbage.
There were a line at the lunch time, and I noticed the ribs were very blacked.
Be honest, except the brisket which is by far the best that ever had in comparison to what we had from Austin, Luling, Seguin etc., the rest of the meats were over burned, unflavorful and dry, unfortunately.
The sides were also not impressive.
However, the service people was so friendly and passionate, he even gifted us a piece of cornbread which was quite good, that I felt compelled to add one overall star for this place.

Drove all the way from San Antonio, Tx to get a taste of this amazing bbq. I had seen advertisements on Facebook and I am so glad I took the other customer’s reviews/word for it.
I ordered the two meat plate w/ two sides, which consisted of: sliced brisket, ribs, smoked cabbage & potato salad. The brisket and ribs just melted in my mouth You could taste that good smoke taste throughout the meat. The smoked cabbage and potato salad were on point as well. I will definitely be stopping by again. Keep up the good work!! ❤️❤️❤️

We stopped for the 1st time today at Woods BBQ. It didn’t disappoint. It’s inside the mini mart but don’t let that fool you. Getting out of the car you’re immediately hit by the smell of what must be heaven.
We had the ribs, brisket, mac n cheese and buttered potatoes. All were 10/10! Service and conversation were 10/10! Owner was fantastic. We’ll definitely be going back.

Absolutely Amazing food!! The smoked cabbage, the chili beans, the buttered potatoes, were sooo good !!! The RIBS WERE OUT OF THIS WORLD !! The chicken and sausage was great. Loved the brisket too !!! Their sauce is really good but didnt even need it because all the meat was well seasoned and had great smokey flavor all through it. Great food great people. I will be stopping here from now on !!

Recall a time where you stop at a hole in the wall, no frills place off Hwy 90 when your Grand-Dad took the lesser traveled route because it was the ways of the past, stopped into grab a quick bite and a coke to enjoy in the Texas sun on your ol pickup tailgate. This is where Woods took me today. After passing the “BBQ Capital of Texas” to stop here instead, abandoning a selection of Barbeque choices across hundreds of miles from Comal to Harris Co, we decided to give Woods a try. We were not disappointed. Ordered the three meat plate and a half pound of brisket. Enjoyed EVERY bit of it. That brisket is melt in your mouth tender and flavored very well. There is nothing left to be desired, except maybe a wheelbarrow for after you’ve eaten too much to help wheel you down the road. The sides are fantastic. So many BBQ joints have sides that aren’t very good, are afterthoughts but not at Woods. Delicious cabbage and buttered potatoes and a nice corn cake/corn bread, ooooo yeah. I love Woods and you should certainly go check them out anytime you are able. #GoNavy #TXBBQ #WoodsBBQ

The epitome of Texas BBQ! Woods is tucked away in a gas station with no seating. So heads up, make the stop and either take with or find the nice park to enjoy Columbus while you eat a bit of southern charm. The brisket is moist and done with a simple but effective salt and pepper rub. Highly recommend the sides. The smoked cabbage was wonderful. Additionally, the collared greens stick to southern tradition with great texture and flavor. It wouldn’t be a southern meal without some cornbread so leave some room. Hearty portions served with love!

Tried Woods BBQ in Columbus, Texas for the first time today. The food was some of the best pit bbq we have had! I had the brisket plate with green beans and potato salad. My husband had the ribs with Mac ‘n’ cheese, beans, and cornbread. The portions were generous size and the food was delicious. I always eat sauce on my brisket but the was moist with its own juice so I didn’t need the side of bbq sauce after all. (Definitely a rarity for me!) The staff is very friendly and a joy to visit with. We will definitely be back!!!

My buddy and I stopped here on our way back to Austin. We’re so glad we did too. The food was delicious and hit the spot! I got two brisket plates and he got a rib plate. The brisket was moist and flavorful! Big fan of the bigger Mac n cheese. The chili beans were delicious as well. I will be stopping here every time I pass by. Very attentive customer service too. They were both very nice.
