This was THE WORST CHEESESTEAK I ever had in PHILLY in my life ! The bread was stale and hard, the meat was not completely cooked, it had huge chucks the size of my thumbnail of onions (which I specifically DID NOT REQUEST), the cheese whiz was poured on top of the lettuce and tomato, which was not pushed inside so it all sat like a bad toupee. It slid off like a mudslide….nothing about the food said CHEESESTEAK…it was nasty and dry and impossible to eat….it was a mess…they need a real printed MENU instead of impersonal QR codes….if you’re less than 10 feet from me cooking the meal I’m paying for, Human contact besides the monetary transaction would make common sense and courteous.

The Woodrow’s Whiz Wit (Cheesesteak,Woody Style) was amazing! The truffle whiz made the sandwich. The shaved meat had great texture and flavor. The fries were fresh and thicker which is my favorite. All in all, this is a hidden gem of a place for cheesesteaks!

Went to Woodrow’s this past Friday and so glad we did. This is my new favorite cheesesteak joint in the city. The ribeye is fresh shaved, perfectly seasoned and the roll is fantastic!!

Not a bad cheese steak, inability to make modifications, you must order on their website but due to the limited options, the food comes out extremely quick.
The beef seemed to be of a lower quality cut and the sandwich needed some salt. The bread was good but I’m not sure that I would come out of my way to return. The sandwich needed about 50% more meat.
I’ll get some slack for saying this but aside from their truffle aioli and bread, I prefer Jerseys mikes.

I had ordered from here a while ago and they offered cheese choices and it was very good with the cooper sharp. This time they only offered the sandwich with their truffle whiz cheese. The bread was good and they gave you a good amount of meat. However the truffle whiz over powers everything. It’s good but you can’t taste the meat it’s just the cheese.

Was in the area and Woodrow’s was recommended so decided to give them a try. The staff was friendly and helpful. The space is eclectic and inviting even by South Street standards. I got a Woody’s style cheesesteak which was terrific! Loved the incorporation of the whiz and meat, although I readily admit whiz is far from my favorite. Roll held up well even with the long commute home. Parking is what parking is in Philly, but this spot is definitely worthwhile if you are in the area.

Omg great cheese steaks. I got mine with the truffle cheese. For cheese lovers, there was so much cheese. For me, it was alil too much but I devoured the whole sandwich. The fries were good. You scan the QR code and order. The get your food. The process was short and sweet. The place is nice and clean. I will definitely eat there again.

Ordering the muffuletta was the worst decision of the week. The sandwich was made with a hard, seeded roll instead of the proper muffuletta bread. Furthermore, it had very little meat. The lack of correct bread and minimal filling made it extremely disappointing.

Had a fantastic experience at Woodrow’s Sandwich Shop in Philly! This was our first stop and our first time trying a Philly cheesesteak sandwich in the city. The whiz was absolutely perfect, the meat was tender, and the bread had the ideal combination of being crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The highlight for me was the Cajun fries—hand-cut, freshly fried, and seasoned just right with Cajun spices. The staff were friendly, and the environment was welcoming and nice overall. Highly recommend!
