Quiet and clean. Good service, and our food was good. I had the fish po boy. Husband said his mushroom melt was good.
Second visit today, food was even better. The chicken hawk sandwich with slaw and sauce, best sandwich I have had in a while. The chili burger was awesome, too. I can’t wait till the next visit.

Great place to grab a bite. The fish Poboy was excellent and the coleslaw and chips are fresh and homemade. The proprietors were very friendly and seem to take pride in their business. I will come again to Woodies

My MIL was a culinary teacher of this guy, and he didn’t disappoint!!!
She got the Catfish basket, and it was delicious!!! The sauteed squash and, zucchini was a standout, basically a win-win across the board.
I got the infamous Mushroom Melt, and as you can see from others reviews, this apparently, is a favorite, and I could tell why.
You could tell everything was made by the owner, and not out of the box, which I adore
Super good, and will definitely definitely be back!!!
If you’re looking for a place to drop in, and aren’t in a crazy rush, cos the owner is not only your host, but also the cook, and server, check out this place.
If you’re a 5+ party, call ahead for reservations.
Bonus: closes at 8pm, which is also good.

I think every time I’ve gone it’s just been (Mike?) running the whole show–seating customers, taking orders, working the grill. But we’re always given a friendly greeting and made to feel welcome and attended to. How he does it all and so well I don’t know. But it’s a great place for made on demand food. Everything I’ve ever had there down to the sides has been good.

This small but cozy little restaurant rests in the downtown area of Evening Shade. Very good food and very good service. A friendlier place you’ll never find.
Update….the best burgers and fries! I went to Sonic, they ruined my burger! I went to a different place, same thing. I went to another Sonic, they ruined my burger! The only place that left the cheese in the fridge, is Woodies! The best sides! The best people!

This place feels familiar the first time you walk into it. It’s small, but doesn’t have a crowded atmosphere. Breakfast was really good. They have great coffee! We like the tables on the covered porch for that fresh, outside seating option on nice days. We will be back to try more menu items!
