Great place to watch a game, or just get a meal and couple of beers after work.
The wings are out of this world. You can get them several different ways. The rest of the menu is great, too. They will even swap out bread for lettuce wraps, if that’s your thing. The service is fantastic, we literally never had our drinks go more than half empty the entire night.
Their beer selection is top notch. Not just mass produced beer, but craft brews as well. Also, not just craft brews from around Virginia, but from around the country. I got really excited when they had an IPA from Charlotte, NC, that I hadn’t had since we moved back to RVA five years ago.
Will definitely go back. So should you

We had several of the appetizers: hush puppies, fried pickles, nachos and egg rolls. All of them were absolutely delicious! The meals each of us had were also delicious! We had a group of 22 people, the server was amazing and very attentive!

This was an experience. The place was a little loud but you could still carry on a conversation. I ordered the chicken sandwich with Honey BBQ sauce. The plate came out and looked great. I took a bite and noticed that the sauce was really hot. I took another bite just to be certain, it got hotter and hotter. I put it down and my eyes started watering and notified the waiter immediately. He said that the cooks probably put the Spicy Inferno sauce on instead. He took it back and came back with more water and a milk. He did verify that it was the inferno as the manager did try it also. They apologized and brought out a new chicken sandwich with the honey bbq. We were able to laugh it off, because it was the hottest thing I have ever had. The food was really good though and the service was really good. My mouth was still burning and around my lips for the next 2 hours.

5 out of 5 all the way around! For as busy as it was, we were impressed at how amazing everything was. From the drinks, the steak egg rolls appetizer, my wings, and the smokehouse burger my husband ordered. Our server was so sweet, and doing the best they could given how busy it was. The manager, Danielle, was also super friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back soon!

Third time going to this particular restaurant in the span of when they first opened. So large chunks of time between each visit. Over all a decent experience for the price. The drinks are measured water downed. Each time I’ve had to send mines back. (Less soda please for example). and for some reason each time, maybe it’s our luck but the front hosts have always been kids or ones who ignore you or are not really helpful. Like they have some sort of attitude or don’t want be welcoming. So I’m reluctant to return more so because of front of house rather than the servers. Each time the servers have been excellent. Front of not so much. The food the last night and time got better, because the one in midlo reigned supreme. Scott’s Addition one is in point as well. This one’s wings are now getting better from our crowd’s experience. They were tastier. Maybe I’ll give it one more go just to confirm the place again for our family and test out the service again. Maybe it’s just growing pains

My server was amazing, the host stand was super sweet, and the kitchen killed it. No complaints there at all.
The issue was the manager, Danielle. The interaction was condescending and unnecessarily rude. There was no reason for the attitude. As someone who comes here every single week and spends money here, that kind of treatment isn’t acceptable.
I looked after and saw other reviews mentioning similar behavior, so it might not be a one off.
I still like the place, but Danielle needs to fix her attitude. I’m genuinely shocked how easy it was for her to be rude.

We were immediately seated in the seating of our choice (booth). Our waitress, Maggie R, was really attentive and accurate, the best we’ve had in a long time! The atmosphere is typical sports bar but my husband and I could have a conversation with no problem. My steak and cheese was delicious, so tasty that it didn’t even need the au jus. My husband said his club sandwich hit the spot. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries. We’re both taking home leftovers.
This is the second location of Wood And Iron that I have tried and I really like what is on the menu and so far, the consistency. Give them a try and you won’t be sorry.

This food was some of the best i’ve had around this area! Server was great and a vey short wait considering it was black friday! A little pricey but worth it!!
