Reviews
We ordered a pasta dish, a salmon entree, and a salad. All of the items tasted good but I will never go back. The pricing is on par with a sit down restaurant but the portions do not match.
You get a piece of salmon the size of a deck of cards (one serving) with some sauce on it for $25. Not even a discount to add a side. Why bother ordering here when you can go out to eat or to your favorite restaurant and spend the same amount for more food?
The salad was mostly arugula with a few chopped beets.
The pesto and shrimp was was only $19 and it tasted good.
I applaud the concept, appreciate offerings, admire the execution, and admonish the pricing.
Service – very quick, and my food was delivered piping hot. My order was correct including food from two different Wonder brands.
Food review – Don’t bother unless you have a super cheap coupon.
Thai –
Pad Thai had decent flavor, but the chicken was rubbery, scrambled eggs were clearly made separately as egg nuggets and added in a pile in a corner of the dish, tofu was good and actually cooked better than the chicken so maybe it would be worth getting vegetarian version of this? Something odd, the noodles got VERY rubbery and hard to chew as soon as they cooled. And there were no vegetables at all aside from some wilted overcooked bean sprouts, no cilantro or basil, no scallions, one tiny half wedge of lime came with another item but this dish needed it much more.
Drunken noodles, good flavor but same problem as other dish with rubbery chicken and haphazard construction. Full basil leaves including stems with no effort to make them appealing or cut large leaves to a reasonable size. Noodles were very good until they cooled off and then they became so rubbery they are pretty much inedible. I doubt they will reheat well.
Fred’s sandwiches –
Korean kimchi cheese steak, it was all right but there are much better (and bigger) cheese steaks for this price in the area. Couldn’t taste Korean barbecue sauce at all and the kimchi was a fail. Oh and they don’t cut the sandwiches in half. Maybe that’s a nitpick, but it’s the first time I’ve gotten a full size sub that was not sliced.
Spicy chicken sandwich was not spicy at all, contained two (VERY white) sous vide chicken tenders that were less rubbery than the chicken in the Thai food but still a little overcooked. Sandwich assembly was terrible with a huge pile of pickled carrots and greens on one side with literally none on the other side, lots of full stems of cilantro also mostly on one side. I love cilantro but this really was overkill. Same as the cheesesteak, full size sub roll that was not cut in half.
Really very minimal effort on everything, all four items seemed slapped together. Overall I would say it was decent considering I had a $20 coupon but I would have been pretty upset if I paid full price. By the way, the 50% off coupon has a $20 limit. I figured as much but I didn’t see that limit anywhere until I checked out my order.
