This place is great! We showed up 30 minutes before close on a long trip back home. We were tired and hungry and left refreshed and full! The staff was super friendly, chatted with us and kept our drinks topped off and made sure we were well taken care of! Even right before close the food was fresh and hot! The catfish is to die for! The Mac and cheese was thick and creamy, and my wife loved it, and she’s picky about her Mac! The okra was crispy and perfectly cooked! Highly recommend stopping here for a bite!

Southern comfort country homemade food at its best. I’ve had the chicken fried steak here a couple of times and it never disappoints. Add on the fried okra, mashed potatoes and cornbread. Doesn’t get any better. I really think their chicken fried steak is the best in the area. One of these days I’ll make it to the other items on the menu but it’s hard to pass up that c.f.steak. Service is very good with a super friendly inviting atmosphere.

Our 1st time coming here and what a great experience all around from walking in, the food, the service and even paying the check lol. Our waitress was Myrtle and she was very nice, answered any questions we had and didn’t rush us in any way. The food tasted very very good only possible complaint is the cornbread could use some work it was dry and bland. Will definitely be back.

Don’t let the outside fool you. This place is outstanding! We’ve lived in Gainesville for 3 years and finally made a visit. I’m kicking myself for not going sooner!!! Everything was amazing, hot and flavorful. The staff was exceptional and it was so clean. Make the trip…you won’t be disappointed.

We Casino alot. And found them one day looking for Home Cooking. The Service is always great.We do take out. But our last visit we were all the way back at Motel. No plastic wear. And the wrong condiments for the fish and shrimp meal.I had chicken fried steak and baked potatoes loaded. But we’ll go back . The food and service are both great….

Outstanding service. I had a Catfish and Shrimp plate with beans. Great seasoning. Real Southern Tea. My plate was mounded over with food. When you go there, be hungry! You will as happy as I was. Atmosphere was wonderful. Always a smile and eager to help in anyway needed. This will be our new go-to when dining in Gainesville. For the amount of food, the price was acceptable. Highly recommend this establishment.
