Overall they just need better training and better social skills. As someone who works in customer service I would never treat paying customers this way and it’s a little disheartening to see how they treat everyone.
A good place to make a quick chicken Wing Stop
First, the staff needs better training, and that falls squarely on management. These are young workers — likely their first job — and it really showed. They seemed rushed, unprepared, and unsure of how to handle the flow. That’s not their fault. That’s leadership’s job.
The music was way too loud, which made it hard to even place an order. Meanwhile, the woman at the front counter was so soft-spoken we could barely hear her — it felt like we needed a microphone just to communicate.
And the food? Rushed and sloppy. Like they were working in hyper-speed with no time to get it right. Again — poor management. A business is only as strong as the systems in place to support the team.
I love Wingstop, but this location needs serious attention from upper management to deliver the experience people expect.
Some days may be crazy, some may not so it really depends on the timing. All in all, this is another good chain to have in our town to increase variety within the public.
As a world-wide brand with over TWO THOUSAND locations, I was appalled at how these new staff are thrown to the wolves. It was VERY apparent that WingStop chose to open doors a tad early, sacrificed training their employees to an acceptable point of proficiency, in an effort to start taking money from customers.
For the record, I DO NOT blame the staff. They were working their butts off and it showed. What I saw, as I took it all in, was chaos, no leadership, zero direction and again, chaos. Efficiency can’t thrive in that atmosphere. Not possible.
I ordered $36+ in food and when I arrived after my time, I waited while they searched for my order and couldn’t find it. Finally, I was told it would be an additional two hours! For reference, I could have driven to Tualatin, ordered my food, driven back to McMinnville and eaten my wings in their parking lot in that amount of time. I also discovered that my order ticket was never printed and wasn’t going to be worked on unless I asked about it, thus why they couldn’t find it..
I politely asked for a refund and the employee thanked me for not yelling at her?! This is the impact of a greedy corporation or franchisee that opened too early and was nowhere in site when their staff are being accosted by angry customers. If you want to open early, YOU be the one to face the upset customers and answer questions.
The employee told me that I would receive my refund later, because of course, they hadn’t been trained on issuing refunds yet.
I do think things will smooth out BUT if today was any indication of how they plan to run this business, I’ll hit BWW instead.
