As I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed an employee vaping right by the entrance. While I understand people take breaks, vaping or smoking at the doorway of a restaurant creates a negative first impression. To make matters worse, when I entered the store just not even 1 min. later, that same employee was already handling food, which strongly suggested they hadn’t washed their hands. Next my wife walked in the building before me with my children, and overheard the cashier make a comment to another employee: “Betcha this kid is going to be hella white.” When my son and I walked in, they laughed and followed it up with “told yuh.” I found this remark to be completely inappropriate and off-putting. Not sure what race had to do with anything!
Like others have mentioned. It took about five minutes before any employee acknowledged us or asked for our order, despite the fact that they kept looking at us at the counter. While we were waiting, I observed another employee using his phone and then handling food without washing his hands, and another employee rubbing all over their face and then continue handling food. When we left, another different employee from the first one mention. Stepped outside to smoke his cigarettes right next to the front entrance.
On a positive note there was a single female working that brought us our food. She was working her tail of and very respectful and wonderful customer service. While the others watched.
Ultimately, the hygiene, negative comments about my family, and professionalism of the majority of the staff left a negative impression and ultimately deterred me from wanting to return to this location.
I tried to take this up with Austin the supposed franchise manager, according to the card on the front desk. But have yet to hear a word back in any manner for over a month!
