the servers were pretty welcoming, and many of them were attentive to the details. i’d say the appetizers were worth the price, but the entrees were a bit underwhelming for the price. i’d ordered the steak frites, but the frites were not crunchy as i expected. the steak was good quality, but there was a small ratio of steak to potatoes, where there were mostly frites than steak. vegetables that were made from here were good quality as well too.
i highly recommend dishes such as, calamari, pork chop, butternut squash crème brûlée, and mediterranean meatballs.

This is our favorite place for happy hour and special occasions. Incredible menu, impeccable service, always creative delicious and enjoyable. True hospitality and fine dining without the fuss. Try the happy hour appetizers (amazing coconut shrimp, delicious burrata plate, Mediterranean meatballs, seasonal risotto balls, Bavarian pretzels and more). Great cocktail specials and perfect wine pairings. Eclectic menu. The most delicious pork chop, pork Raghu with pappardelle, decadent steaks, and so much more! Delicious burgers, a bahn mi, fish tacos-something for everyone. Huge decadent desserts! Enjoy!

Good overall, but I knocked a star because I ordered a mimosa and it was 80% juice. Not what you’d expect when wine is literally part of their name. But I’d still recommend this place if you’re in the area and wanting upscale American cuisine.

So I wanted to try somewhere I had never eaten at downtown. I chose this spot as I was interested in their lobster shrimp and crab Mac. I went about 915pm and was seated immediately. My server was Colin and he was very nice. I ordered French onion soup as an appetizer, it was delicious and I absolutely loved it. I ordered the lobster shrimp and crab Mac as my entree and it was by far the best seafood Mac I’ve had in Lawrence. For dessert I ordered the pistachio gelato and it was divine. I definitely recommend eating here as it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a really long time. The service from Colin was excellent as well.

Dined in the other night. Got there in time to try out the Happy Hour Drinks and snax. The Limoncello is my drink of choice and the Dive Manhattan my husband’s. We had a new girl wait on us and she was fantastic. Our drinks were good, service better. We had the Mediterranean Meatballs and Sugar Snap Peas from the happy hour menu. Those meatballs were flavorful and tender a super good choice. Also got the Sugar Snap Peas from the HH menu. This is my new FAVORITE appetizer. They have a wonderful crunch and are cooked in this butter combo that makes them really tasty. We ordered a salad and burger to share for dinner and they did not disappoint. They have outside seating for a more casual atmosphere and inside is more intimate. Both are lovely places to sit. I recommend!!

I just went here for the first time on a date night. Our server was very friendly, which was probably the highlight. The food was all fine – nothing objectionable but also nothing noteworthy. We had coconut shrimp, almond crusted trout, and steak frites that were all okay. I had a glass of cab sav that didn’t have much body, which is what I usually love about cab sav. The tables are really packed in to a big open space, so not much atmosphere and it’s a bit tricky to actually navigate. Overall, “fine” was how both me and my dining partner described it, which really does not match the prices. That said, it was very busy, so clearly others feel differently.

For a girl who never leaves a serious review this one is a first. My wife and I were disappointed and spent $100+.
Service was wonderful, location is prime; everything was great but unfortunately spending so much on dinner for my wife and I for it to taste bland was really unfortunate. We spend most of our time eating at restaurants but this was a first eating out and not being happy with our food. We ordered the lamp chops and the salmon. Salmon was overcooked… the garlic mash potato’s was legitimately straight Parmesan. The lamb chops also bland and just a bit odd tasting. We also rate every single arancini dish as it’s our favorite couple appetizer, and we’re severely disappointed. Very very bland and the ratio to risotto to Gruyère cheese was not well portioned.
Overall, I think the kitchen just needs a bit more practice because execution on the menu would’ve been great — or perhaps the chefs had a rough day and that’s okay but will not be back for our annual LFK trips.

Wine Dive + Kitchen in Lawrence is a beautiful and spotless restaurant — definitely a place that feels inviting from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is classy yet relaxed, and it’s clear they have a very loyal clientele who love coming here. Lily, the bartender, was absolutely wonderful — friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the wine list. I went with a Rosé from Italy that was crisp and refreshing, and their overall wine selection is solid.
For food, I started with the French onion soup, which unfortunately missed the mark for me — it lacked the depth and richness I was hoping for. I ordered the Jerked Duck as my main dish, and while it took a little longer than expected to arrive (especially considering the restaurant wasn’t busy), the flavors were on point. The duck was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of spice. The plantain was cooked beautifully — tender with great texture — but the Brussels sprouts were underseasoned and missing that satisfying crunch.
Overall, it’s a lovely place with great service, a nice wine selection, and clearly a strong following. With a few adjustments in the kitchen, it could easily live up to the high expectations its reputation sets.

I know the chef so I truly can’t give a non bias review. But if you’re in Lawrence and this isn’t a stop it should be. Great atmosphere great food great service but please don’t take my word for it head over to Lawrence and find out for yourself.

We went here for the first time and were not impressed at all. It is overpriced, overcrowded, and overall seemed very “money grab” centric.
We first walked in and they told us the menu was “different” since it was a game night (KU Basketball) which just meant that everything under $20 was now either removed from the menu or the price was raised up closer to $30.
We ordered the coconut shrimp and we were brought a plate with 3 shrimp. $15 for 3 shrimp is ROBBERY.
We also ordered the black label burger and we were not asked how we wanted it cooked and it came out as close to rare as a burger can get. It tasted okay but more like $10 okay, not $28.
I’m not sure why this restaurant stays busy but I don’t see that continuing for much longer if that is how they operate.
