Celebrating 18 years in business, Windy Saddle Cafe is a local’s favorite for espresso beverages, freshly made bakery, savory breakfasts, and healthy lunches! Vegan and gluten-free options available. Outdoor seating. Play area for the little ones. This busy cafe is located right under the arch in Golden!
Sandwiches, breakfast, plus Colorado beer & wine are served at this homey cafe with a kids’ corral.

I’m a fan of Windy Saddle Cafe and will continue to visit. My favorite part is their kid friendliness with their Kids Corral area and kids menu! The food and lattes are good – I recommend the quiches. My gripes: 1) wish the kids area was cleaner, 2) wish the bathrooms were cleaner. This place gets very busy given the great location in downtown Golden. Visiting before 9:30 am on weekends is ideal. They have outside seating and free wifi.

Windy Saddle Cafe is the kind of place that makes you want to quit your job, buy a flannel, and move to Golden forever. The cozy, rustic vibe feels like a mountain cabin had a very tasteful Pinterest board. Their matcha latte is elite—smooth, earthy, and powerful enough to make me feel both calm and superior. The little shop trinkets are dangerously cute; I came in for caffeine and left emotionally attached to at least three items I did not need but absolutely deserved. Perfect spot to warm up, people-watch, and romanticize your life for an hour. Would 100% come back, probably tomorrow.

Nice coffee shop in a great location in Golden. Coffee was really good, service was fast and friendly. They didn’t have many food options though — I was hoping for a nice pastry or dessert to go with my coffee, but there wasn’t much. There were quite a few bugs near the entrance window; my wife noticed it and we switched tables. Not sure if it’s a cleanliness thing or just the weather. Still, it’s a solid spot for a quick coffee stop. Worth checking out if you’re nearby.

Each time I’ve visited, including Thanksgiving day, the staff is as hard working and friendly as ever. I’m super appreciative of the service everyone provides. The commitment to a cozy, warm, and welcoming environment is apparent which creates an atmosphere deserving of recognition before ever getting to their coffee and food. Their curated menu of specialty lattes, assortment of pastry items, and incredible kitchen options only further cements Windy Saddle Cafe as a must-visit in downtown Golden.

Cute coffee shop in the heart of Golden!
Reasonable prices, great taste.
The atmosphere is lively, yet serene. There are small individual areas to sit and bigger tables for groups, a kids area in the back and a take/leave library. Gluten free pastries are available

Nice little cafe just under the “Welcome to Golden,” sign. Enjoyed a beer with lunch, had the Thunderbird turkey sandwich. Food is good, the service is decent, the atmosphere is terrific!

Nice cafe in downtown Golden! They’re always pretty busy with a line but they make it through the line pretty quick. Food takes a little while to come out (about 15-20min), but it’s always freshly made and hot (if you get a hot sandwich). We’ve gotten to-go for lunch several times and everything has been good! We’ve tried the meat burrito for breakfast, as well as the Hi-Ho tuna sandwich, Thunderbird sandwich, the Jamaican jerk wrap(pretty spicy!), the amitola wrap, round-up wrap, and The Drifter and Clear Creek caprese sandwich, which are two of our favorites. Service is usually friendly enough and the food has been consistently good each visit. The Golden Miel latte is a favorite and the spicy chai and hot chocolate are also good! Good quality, fair pricing, I’d recommend a stop by!

A favorite spot whenever I visit Golden. Good coffee and tasty sandwiches with gluten free bread options. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Last time I visited two staffers stopped by my table to make sure the gluten free sandwich I ordered was made correctly. The only thing that was disappointing was the limited 1 hour WI-FI access. I understand why they do it especially at busy times but not good for folks like me who try to get work done whenever they stop by here. Overall a good place for food and drinks and I always stop by when I have the time after some fly fishing on the creek!

Cute place! More of a full service coffee shop then a restaurant. We enjoyed the oat milk latte we got (the espresso was nice, however served more like a cappuccino then a latte). Burrito was good for $8! We didn’t pay extra for the sauce on the outside. My husband really loved the meat croissant sandwich. The baked goods looked delicious although we didn’t partake. Many GF options.

I needed a pick me up on the way down from a wedding in the mountains, and we stopped into Windy Saddle Cafe. over Labor Day weekend(!) and they were packed- both inside and outside. The line moved quickly and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. There were people of all ages and walks of life, lots of laughter and it looked like the kind of place where everyone is welcome. I tasted my first sip and was overjoyed when I found out that they were serving my favorite espresso EVER by Kaladi Coffee. If I lived close by I would go there every day. They have dairy and gluten free food options, a play area for kids, adorbs store merch and a cute little library. Not to mention the perfect location to take a picture under the Golden arch and it’s a block away from the creek. I’ll stop by again and take better pictures and get more of that yummy coffee again soon!
