I thought they food mostly excellent. The Buffet price is on the high side, but it does include everything including a drink, salad bar, food bar, taco bar, and deserts…$20-$22 per person (total) and NO tip creep. Lots of variety to choose from. I thought the fried Catfish was excellent. Very light and not greasy at all. Some of the best Catfish I’ve ever had. Staff were super nice. The one complaint that I have is several (quite a few) of the items were not hot and a couple were not really even warm. If they fix that, 5 stars all the way. Oh yeah…bathrooms are pretty limited for a place that size. Be prepared.

Bottom line….I’d eat there again in a heartbeat.

I went to this place when I first moved back to Texas. I really enjoyed the food and service. It has been awhile since I went back. I heard it changed hands since last time. The food was good for buffet but I felt like alot of the food was not to fresh and been sitting for awhile. We went we they had been open for about hour. I also felt like it did not have as many choices as last time also. I enjoyed the drive to this restaurant but I do not think I will be back

Definitely worth the drive!! Family friendly!! Very kind people that welcome you with open arms! Best buffet for “comfort food” and Friday night seafood, and frog legs. Salad bar, with butter soaked corn on the cob, fried catfish, shrimp, chicken, baked potato etc! Peach, and chocolate cobbler with ice cream, always rounds out dessert.

Pretty pricey at $25 a person, but the food is pretty decent. The corn nuggets, jalapeño poppers, hush puppies, and butterfly shrimp are all awesome. The catfish is decent. There’s spicy and regular. Pretty well stocked salad bar. If you love fried catfish, this would probably be worth it for you.

The Windom Feed Sack is an excellent dining choice for your trek through scenic and nostalgic Northeast Texas. We’ve found that folks from all over the area come here regularly to enjoy a delicious family meal “just like grandma used to make”, as we’ve remarked.

The food is old-fashioned, home-cooking; delicious and on-point. The menu is well-appointed with bbq ribs, fried catfish, chicken-fried steak, peel-and-eat shrimp, and much more. Your favorite side dishes are waiting right on the line for you.

The dessert offerings include delectable soft-serve ice cream, peach or mixed-berry cobbler, a variety of cookies, and on and on.

Antiques and memories decorate the newly-renovated interior of this well-aged town square building that pays respect to its history. The building itself sits catty-corner across the street from the historical municipal bank building, which is also of interest to see.

It is important to note that this wonderful gem of a restaurant was clean, sanitary, and food-safe. These folks obviously take pride in their establishment.

Finally, the owners and employees were so incredibly friendly to us! It absolutely felt as if we stepped into our own “Town of Mayberry”, and everyone was a friend.

We will be back through, even if only to stop here again. Thank you, Windom Feed Sack!

Great local dining experience with modest but wholesome buffet choices. All you can eat or drink, including both a salad and a dessert bar which includes soft serve ice cream. Vegetable choices were limited to corn on the cob or baked potatoes the day I visited with several meat and fish dishes and rolls or corn muffins. Very good home-style cooking.

Really good small-town restaurant serving American food buffet style. Staff was super friendly. Food was great. Restaurant and bathrooms are clean and in good repair. Restaurant is on the main Street in the little town of Windom. The scenery and the drive are very much worth a day trip. Highly recommend.

This place will catch your eye when you first walk in. The time they have put into decor and atmosphere is really amazing. A town like Windom is the only kind of town you where can find a restaurant like this. A small town, a really small town. It is worth stopping. The food variety is really good. The food temperature is really good. The desert I had was homemade. I had lunch on a Wednesday and paid $11. That is cheap for a buffet now days. That includes main courses, salad bar, drinks and desert. Everything is included. All you have to do is show up, pay at the door before you eat (it’s as you come in on your right) and eat. There are two bad reviews that I seen. I wholly disagree. If you can recommend Jason’s Deli over The Feed Sack, you probably should have never stopped in the first place. Just saying.

Food wasn’t good like at all. Cute place but you have to serve yourself entirely including your drink. Definitely not somewhere I’d eat again. Oh and not to mention $50 for two people. Not large family friendly.

Went for the Saturday night fish fry. They had catfish (both Cajun and regular), shrimp, fish and ribs. I love their homemade onion rings. Meal includes drinks and dessert.
