Social Profile:

Windmills Craftworks is a music-led cultural venue designed as a true third space—where sound, craft, and community come together with intention. At its heart is a world-class jazz theatre hosting boundary-pushing artists and immersive live experiences, supported by an on-site craft brewery and a thoughtfully composed food program. Our beers are brewed to be part of the listening experience, and our kitchen offers Indian-inspired and Texas-rooted dishes that enhance the rhythm of the room rather than compete with it. Beyond performances, Windmills invites lingering, whether that means settling into a quiet corner with a book from our curated library, gathering over a drink, or simply letting the space become part of your daily ritual.

Streamlined microbrewery & international eatery featuring regular live music & patio seating.

It is a 5/5 review Resturant to me. We went for our date night dinner and the vibe is perfect.. The food we ordered is perfect with respective to quantity and the taste while a beautiful live music is being played on. Donne biryani is something I was not expecting that good taste, as it turned to be a very good taste. there starters and drinks were also good.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

Windmill Craftworks at the Colony is easily one of the best Indian fusion fine-dining restaurants in the area. The moment you step in, the interiors immediately impress — warm lighting, stylish décor, and a beautifully designed ambience that feels both premium and welcoming. For us, it brought back the charm of the original Windmill we loved in Bangalore, so finding it here in Frisco was a wonderful surprise.

We visited with our family and a close friend’s family to celebrate a special occasion, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The kids absolutely loved the food — the salmon and pork ribs were such a big hit that they disappeared in minutes!

On the Indian side, every dish was perfectly done. The dal makhani was rich and creamy, the kebabs were tender and flavorful, the prawns mango curry had the perfect sweet-spicy balance, and the donne biryani brought that authentic homestyle comfort we all crave.

A special mention to the craft beer and cocktails — truly impressive! The craft brews were smooth and well-balanced, and the cocktails were creative, refreshing, and beautifully made. They really elevate the dining experience.

Great food, excellent drinks, warm service, and fantastic interiors — Windmill Craftworks delivers on every front. Whether it’s a family dinner, a celebration, or a relaxed evening out, this is one of Frisco’s standout dining spots.

Highly recommended! ️ ✨

Absolutely amazing place in Plano location to have fusion food. Everything we had tasted amazing, the ambience was top notch and the service was amazing.
We went for team lunch and the staff greeted with some of their finest brewery samples.
For drinks, we had some of their mocktails.
For food, we had the Kerala beef fry, Calamari fry, Lamb Shikhampur Kebab, Lamb seekh kabab, chicken kebab. We loved the Kerala beef fry and the calamari fry.
For main, we had their Donne Chicken Biriyani, Chole bature, The Reuben, Tandoori chicken platter and the Shrimp coconut curry.
Everything was amazing but the star was the Shrimp coconut curry.
The location and atmosphere was amazing. Would go back anyday. Highly recommend.

A very high-end restaurant, perfect for dates or dining with colleagues. The Indian dishes are especially exquisite—we tried the lamb and curry chicken, both were delicious. I really enjoyed the onion-flavored Indian naan. The atmosphere is great, and if you come later, you might even catch a piano performance.

Food was good until I found a hair baked into the naan during my visit. It was disappointing and raised concerns about food hygiene. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves their cleanliness and quality checks to prevent this from happening again. The situation gave the impression that this might be a recurring issue, as the staff response did not show much urgency or seriousness.

Went here first time. The place is big and ambience is good. It’s an Indian fusion place and and they have a brewery of their own. There isn’t a lot of options for food if you’re looking for a proper Indian meal. The food taste is quite mild as well. We ordered cocktails and they were sweet and weren’t as strong as we’d expected. We ordered guava chicken which was different but was sweet. Broccoli kebabs were good but frankly I thought that is something I could easily make at home. The ravioli was in an Indian sauce which tasted good. The food and portions were quite average for the price we paid. Would recommend them to add more options to the menu and also revise their pricing if possible.

Overall Poor Experience

I had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit.
1. Ambience: The overall atmosphere was not pleasant. The washrooms had a bad smell, and it was noticeable even near the tables close to the restroom area.
2. Service: The waitress was not attentive. We had to remind her multiple times about our orders, and even then she got basic requests wrong (like ice vs. no ice in drinks).
3. Noise Level: The restaurant was extremely noisy, making it difficult to have a conversation.
4. Food & Pricing: I’m not sure what has changed, but the quality has dropped significantly compared to two months ago. It feels like the new management is cutting corners. The taste was not as good as before, the prices have nearly doubled, and the portion sizes have been reduced drastically—almost like kids’ meal portions. We ended up paying close to $80 per person, which is not worth it.

The only item we genuinely enjoyed was the cheese balls in the starters. The main course Lal Maas was bland and nothing like what it used to be.

On top of that, they automatically treated a group of 6+ as a “large party,” added extra charges, and expected a higher tip as well.

Overall, this visit was not worth the price, and I will not be returning.

We attended a concert with another couple on Saturday October 11th. The food was a mixed bag. One of the chicken appetizer was improperly cooked manifesting in an upset stomach. The biggest disappointment were the drinks. The Masala Chai based libation lacked the flavor and was very diluted with huge block of ice and little alcohol. All in all for a total bill approaching $300 the value was lacking
