I ate there recently. Food was OK. When I paid my bill, we put a tip on the tab. The server took the receipt from the table like normal. She came back shortly with the bill and told me the tip was not enough and informed as to how much it should be. I caught off guard by the exchange. A gratuity is whatever I chose to leave. There is no sign on the door indicating an expected amount of a tip. Not wishing to make a scene, i drop another $5.00 in cash on the table. I also informed the staff that we will not return there to dine again. I will also make every effort to inform others not to eat there either. Customers should not be TOLD what to tip. If there is a minimum expectation, there should be a notice posted on the door so patrons can decide whether to eat there. I will no longer do so.

Never have I ever been glad to be in a traffic jam — but I was this evening! I figured dinner would be better than waiting for the cars on Frantz to move so I decided to check out Wind Chimes. It was excellent! Promptly seated and the server, Jenny, was so friendly and gave awesome recommendations and descriptions of their menu and best entrees. I’ve never had egg fu yung before and my only question is … Why? The chef prepared it perfectly – savory bites of fluffy egg and meats. All items are cooked to order so any preferences or allergies are taken care of. I’ll definitely be back for sure!

DO NOT order from here unless you would like DRY, disgusting food. Ordered for carry out, as I am still trying to find a good Chinese carry-out restaurant in Columbus. I ordered the Sizzling Noodles with chicken, beef, shrimp stir fried with vegetables in brown sauce, which was described as, “Thick egg noodles served on a hot skillet”. I was so excited to find a great Asian noodle dish. Absolutely not. This was fried, burnt, dried out spaghetti with the “sauce” and meat served on the side. It looked like soup served with a side of dried out noodles. Obviously was not expecting much since it is never as good as in the restaurant, but I thought it would be like lo mein, where it is all served together, but this was unacceptable. I also got a side of fried rice just to try. This was the driest, blandest fried rice I have ever tasted. I am so disappointed, as the reviews were great and the pictures looked yummy, but looks like another Chinese restaurant bites the dust.

Windchimes restaurant is a good place to get good Chinese food. The service fast and efficient. There is a couple of other businesses that serve customers during their hours so parking could be an issue but I have never not been able to find a spot.

I started eating excellent Chinese food here over 30 years ago, but haven’t been back for more than 10 years until very recently.
We got the General Tso’s chicken with fried rice delivered via Grubhub & it was UTTER RUBBISH.
The chicken in this dish was perhaps palatable at one point, but my guess is they made it several hours or days ahead of time and let it sit in a pan to dry out where it transformed to the consistency of convenience store beef jerky that sat well beyond its “best by” date. I’ve got good teeth but had to chew a couple of pieces for quite some time to choke it down – before throwing the whole thing out in disgust.
Also, the Tso’s chicken over fried rice smelled and tasted of some chemical — best I can describe is it was like motor oil you discard after changing it well after its service cycle has concluded. Nasty — unless you have a thing for expired petroleum.
Such a shame they have let their food go so badly down the tubes — this was once THE place to get Chinese grub in Dublin, but evidently that time has passed.
SUGGESTION: If you want great Asian food in NW Columbus, head over to the recently re-opened (after a tragic kitchen fire) Hunan Lion off of Bethel Rd. — outstanding!!
DISCLAIMER – I have no interest, financial or otherwise in either of the aforementioned establishments.

I’ve been going for years and the food is still excellent and the service was good. I wish they would take a look at their dining room with a customes eyes. They leave cleaning items and temporary chairs in plain view and they were using a table to hold a decorative planter. They also have a cheap folding table that they use for carry out at the cash register that makes me think they just don’t care like they used too.

Went out for date night to bonefish and had delicious food and drinks. We wanted to keep it going so walked over (passing DubPub) to Windchimes. There was a photo from 4 years ago showing they had a full bar.
UPDATE: the bar is still there! And the prices are better than Bonefish!
Service was great too because of timing we were the only ones in there other than the owner I think.
Awesome atmosphere for people who want to be able to talk and have a conversation over an adult beverage.

We visit several times a month and really enjoy all aspects of Windchimes – food, staff, lovely dining area with side room options, etc. Also, we noticed they have a booming take out/deliver service. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant either in person or via delivery.
