A treat of a steakhouse in Bastrop. Happy to select Piney Creek as our fine dining steak option over any place in Austin. Fantastic steak and sides with friendly service.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Pro tip… make reservations. The cream spinach and roasted Brussels sprouts are delish and worth adding. The locally sourced cheese cake was fresh and creamy with the best graham cracker crust. Yes, you can cut the rib-eye with a fork!!! Outstanding service! Thank you, Melissa!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Awesome appetizer, tender ribeye, nice drink/wine selection. Service was very attentive. Atmosphere was quietly elegant. Pricey but well worth it!

A solid B minus with A plus pricing. Our server was lovely but unfortunately our appetizers came before our cocktails, then our salads were also placed on the table. All of a sudden they must have been in a rush to get food off the counter onto the table. My husbands filet was ordered pink but came red and the salmon was delicious but dry and overcooked. The sauce ontop made everything better though and I finished my plate. With all the 5 star reviews we expected it to be a notch up from other steakhouses, but we were disappointed. We felt it was overpriced for the quality. It is close to where we live and being in town on a Saturday night is also fun. So that worked for us. But in and out in 1 1/4 hours and a half hour wait for our cocktails. Ice had already melted. We will drive a bit further next time if we are planning on spending this kind of money again.

First time here. Drove by MANY times and never got the chance to stop until today. Tess, my server was very good and was attentive to any needs. She recommended the chop out of my selections and was an outstanding choice. The caprese was my appetizer and was very delicious. Not crazy about the elevator music or (light jazz) but it was relaxing. The ambiance was perfect for an evening out. I’m sure I will be back with my wife for a quiet date. Next time I’ll probably order a steak (porterhouse maybe).

We’re new to Bastrop and I wanted to treat my wife to a special evening for her birthday. Piney Creek seemed like a logical choice. After sharing some yummy crab stuffed mushrooms with cocktails My wife ordered a Caesar salad and a filet as her main meal. It was done perfectly and she loved every bite. I ordered lamb. I substituted asparagus with the mashed. It was a wonderful meal. We pushed it a bit with dessert but Helen has to have her cream brûlée. It was excellent. My bread pudding was very tasty but a bit looser than I like it. All in all Helen loved her birthday dinner and we had a lovely evening. Our server was friendly, attentive, and helpful and paced our dinner allowing us to relax and enjoy. The ambiance was warm and classy but people were dressed from fleece to jackets. That’s life today. Prices are typical for an upscale restaurant but so was the value. It’s not a large dining room so reservations are probably a good idea. Hours are limited but maybe that will change some day. I’m sure we’ll be back.

My husband and I hosted a rehearsal dinner May 19, 2023. Melissa, Ashley, Sarah, Sarah and Bella provided excellent service. Our 30+ guests repeatedly told us how nice the restaurant is and how delicious the food was. We all were very happy and had a great experience.

We came here for the first time and it is such a cool experience. Very delicious! Our server Allie was very kind and helpful and went above and beyond to give our family of 3 a great experience! she even had the bar make me a mocktail spritzer with ginger/pomegranate sparkling it was delicious. My husband is a steak guy and for him the ribeye was very tasty. We started with the crab Mac & Cheese and our 6-year-old loved it. I enjoyed a feast: strawberry and spinach salad, filet mignon with mashed potatoes and the “haricot verts” which we found out is a fancy word for French green beans. They were all very delicious! We shared onion rings with ranch and Brussel sprouts. Daughter had a grilled cheese and Fries, they even had a nice kids menu with activities. It was a cozy and relaxing experience. The low candle lighting and historic yet artistic atmosphere made it feel fun and adventurous. Try the prickly pear lemonade when you go! Next time we’ll save room for dessert. There was a private party going on in the event space and that felt exciting also. Well done Piney Creek! Thank you to Allie and everyone on the team and behind-the-scenes in the kitchen and bar.

Ambiance and food is excellent. Lamb chops and filets were outstanding. Welcoming, and friendly staff. The wait staff could benefit from assistance in refilling water and tea, and it took an hour to be served our main course. They have to bus their own tables which contributed to slow service. The bar tender makes wonderful martinis. It is my understanding now that they share a kitchen with the restaurant on the corner. Pack patience, but recommend due to the quality of their food and friendliness of the team.
