Amazing Wilson’s Chicken Cheese Steak! The secret ingredient candied bacon made it so fantastic. I will never be able to think of Chicken Cheese Steaks the same! Yum!

I’ll preface this by saying that had a realized I was ordering within 30 minutes I would have never gone – so I partially blame myself because at that point of the day, food generally isn’t the best quality.

Went to Wilson’s for the first time. For the positives, customer service was good – helpful and kind, the space was clean and well lit, and although they were sold out of some key dishes, like the ribs, there were still plenty of options.

I ordered the brisket, mac, sweet potatoes and blueberry cornbread.

For the not so good – I didn’t look at, nor try, my food until I got home. At first glance, I knew the Mac would be disappointing. It lacked seasoning, was rather bland, and the breadcrumbs lacked the crisp butteryness it typically provides. The brisket was, ok – there was a smokey taste, and visually you can see that seasoning was added, however, as it was shredded I couldn’t detect evidence of a smoke ring on the actual meat. Also, as I picked around, I noticed a fair amount was actually fat, which again, I guess would be from the bottom of the pan since it was the end of the night. The BBQ sauce made it much better, though I tend to judge good bbq on the meats flavor without any sauce, and this needed the sauce. As for the sweet potatoes, this was a bit more disappointing because more than half were undercooked, as in crunchy/not fork tender, and therefore inedible. Of the few tender pieces I could eat, the flavor was good, so it was disappointing that I couldn’t actually enjoy more of it. Lastly the cornbread. This was pretty good, you don’t really taste much blueberry, but it was cakey, moist, and large enough to share. However, the amount of honey butter they give you is darn near laughable, as in there was barely any in the container. It was tastie – a salted butter that wasn’t overly sweet, but if you’re trying to share the butter with others, good luck, lol

*also, not that critical but I’ll note it anyway… the menu said it came with pickles – there were none in my platter*

All in all, I don’t think the $30 I spent on this was worth the quality of food I received. As I stated in the beginning, I will be generous and attribute at least some of my disappointment to getting whatever they had left. But, if I’m honest, I’m not really encouraged to come back either as nothing really stood out as having the potential of being great if I got it earlier in the day.

Was going to a BBQ that I knew wouldn’t have food for me to eat since I’m vegan so I ordered from here. I got the grilled and seasoned veggie platter with baked beans and collard greens.

The baked beans were delicious. I downed them in like 5 mins. They also didn’t give me gas like I was worried they would do. I ate a handful of the veggies that day and they were fine. I must also say I ate the cornbread knowing it was probably made with regular butter and not vegan butter. It was delicious. No regrets. I gave the collard greens away since I didn’t realize they were made with meat. The person who ate them said they were delicious.

The next day I heated up the rest of the veggies and I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. I’m not going to lie I was ready to say the platter was overpriced and not worth it, but that is not the case. The platter was yummy and I would order it again.

I live in Texas, so I’ve had a lot of BBQ in my life—and I have to say, Wilson’s Secret Sauce BBQ is some of the best I’ve ever had. The meat is perfectly tender and full of flavor, the sides are incredible and they even have vegan options that my cousin loved. The service is just amazing as the food—friendly, attentive and genuinely welcome. You can tell they take pride in what they do. If you love BBQ, this place is an absolute must!!! Run, don’t walk, to Wilson’s Secret Sauce—you won’t regret it.

We decided to take a trip to try this cute spot for lunch. So glad we did! The food was sooo good. The brisket was tender and juicy. The Mac n cheese was perfect. The cornbread was delicious & we loved the onion rings. The place is so cute inside. Very clean & the staff very friendly. We had the pleasure to meet Steve! Very friendly genuine person. We will definitely be there often. Well worth the drive. Best barbecue we have had.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Wilson’s Secret Sauce. It was my first time there, and I was there on Sunday 7/20 near the end of the evening. I got the brisket platter with standard corn bread, mac & cheese, and the grilled squash & zucchini. It took a reasonable amount of time to come out, and the portions were generous; appropriate to the cost.

Most of it tasted excellent – the corn bread was the perfect texture and flavor with the butter, and the zucchini and squash were cooked appropriately without being overseasoned. The brisket itself had a nicely complex, smoky flavor and excellent texture. The house sauce was very tasty and nicely balanced being sweet and zesty, so it complemented the brisket’s smokiness well without having to smother it.

Unfortunately, the mac & cheese was very bland, nearly flavorless. The panko crumbs on top seemed stale, being hard but lacking any actual crunch. There was enough food that I didn’t go hungry, but it would have been nice for the server to check on me (there were 3-4 other tables at the time, with seemingly two servers) to see if I was enjoying everything. I demolished everything and left the large pile of mac & cheese sitting there, begging to be asked why it wasn’t being eaten.

When I asked for the check, the server asked me if I’d like a to go box for the mac & cheese, so I let her know that I wouldn’t, as I didn’t like the mac & cheese at all. I was hoping for an opportunity to provide specific feedback, as I’d cleaned the plate of everything else, showing that I wasn’t just being a hater. Unfortunately, there was no curiosity about why I didn’t like it, so I wasn’t able to provide the feedback that I have to include here instead. I’d have given 5-stars if the service had been a bit more responsive and allowed me to give specific feedback on the item that I didn’t like. I don’t expect to like everything, so I can give a pass on a single disappointment when everything else was so good. However, the disinterest in that miss was itself another miss, so… here we are.

Definitely check this place out, plenty of good options to choose from, just avoid the mac & cheese, as it doesn’t live up to its name.

Great food and good size portions. The cornbread is to die for! I had the blueberry cornbread and it’s my favorite. My kid prefers the sweet potato cornbread. The butter is in the shape of a pigs head!
The desserts were awesome, too!

My husband and I came on Saturday with our friend to check this place out. I don’t even know where to start: the food was PHENOMENAL, the atmosphere was great, everyone was so friendly. I had the pulled pork (SO JUICY and didn’t need any sauce) with grilled asparagus, squash, and zucchini. The owner was the kindest guy ever, I told him I like to bake and he wants to bring in my stuff. We will definitely be back here!

The ribs were sooo delicious and tender I most definitely will be back for the ribs. Now the sides collard greens had a good flavor and nice kick of spice will get again but the Mac n cheese it just didn’t have and salt or seasoning it just tasted bland. Last but definitely not least The sweet potato cornbread with with the glaze or whatever goes on it really good

Wilson’s is undergoing some menu changes, planning to go back and experience more in the future.

Corn nuggets were delicious unfortunately all I could stomach being sick. I tried the cornbread too, definitely my favorite part it was super moist!

My boyfriend enjoyed the ribs and fries. He didn’t like the Mac and cheese it had too much garlic for my liking.
