Canadian-born U.S. resident here, was visiting Nova Scotia on a cruise stop. Getting a real authentic poutine was the top of my list, and I don’t take that task lightly. This one fit the bill in every single way. It was absolutely delightful. Ginormous quantity (got the large size for 2 of us, could have fed 3-4), generous portions of every “layer.” 1000/10. Thanks for bringing me a taste of my favourite dish! In heaven, and transferred home, with every bite.

I was in town for a conference and decided I needed to have at least one poutine before I left the city. I love poutine so much I would consider myself a bit of a poutine connoisseur.
Now normally my all time favorite poutine in the maritimes is from Ed Sub’s in Miramichi. But this stuffing poutine has to be the best poutine I have ever had in my life and I don’t say that Willy-nilly. I have had alot of poutine in my 27 years of life haha. The fries were just right not soggy from the gravy and not cooked to long, the stuffing was obviously homemade, the curds were perfect, not cold and I felt like I was eating a turkey dinner.

Ignore any negative reviews that may exist because this is a diamond spot to get yourself a proper poutine fix, don’t waste time across the street at smoke’s this is THE spot! Can’t wait to come back again!

BEWARE THEIR FOOD PRICES DO GO UP FASTER THAN I THOUGH (the menu I took a picture of may not resemble the same prices in the future)

I ordered the classic large poutine (no add-ons), and it did taste good, not bad but not extraordinary, portion sizes were okay (I thought I would get more just from looking at Google Maps review photos in the past) and service was good, and I’ll be back to try the poutine with add-ons.

There is no indoor area to sit or wait so if you are visiting on colder days make sure to dress warm to endure the cold while waiting for your food.

Good poutine but I regretted going with the donair option. Should have stuck with classic or something else salty rather than sweet. The conversation the workers were having was filled with colourful language.

Got food at the outdoor window, classic fried food and clean oil. Staff was super chill and they’re open late when you need food after the bar. Hit it up is a must when you’re out on the town looking for a late night bite! Toss the boys a tip! They’re awesome

First poutine I tried in Halifax and was not disappointed! The lads were nice enough to throw on the pulled pork they had left since they didn’t have enough to make a full order.

Tried Willy’s for the first time in Halifax and was so impressed! I got the stuffing poutine and it was amazing—super flavourful, cozy, and just hit the spot. I also really appreciated that they offer vegetarian gravy, which can be so hard to find at poutine places.

The portion was generous, the fries were perfectly cooked, and the combination of stuffing and cheese curds with the gravy was honestly next level. I’ll 100% be coming back!

Wow. I don’t know how I overlooked this iconic spot to grab poutine.

After the QOTSA concert I had grabbed a beer around the corner then wanted to soak up that alcohol with a Canadian staple. And man I was not disappointed.

This lovely little spot where you order from the street at a window was exactly what I needed. Super friendly staff that easily handled the drunkards that were infront of me.

As for the poutine. Amazing. Crispy fries, great gravy and nice curds. Can’t go wrong here!

The best poutine I had on my trip to Canada!
We visited on our first day and shared a large steak poutine. It was so delicious!
So much so, we went back on our last day and had another steak poutine and donair poutine!
The gravy is really tasty and the chips perfectly crisp so they don’t go soggy.

If you want good poutine whilst in Halifax, Willy’s is definitely the place!
