I went to Carbone’s / Willow River inn. I was expecting pizza and only Italian food. What I saw on the menu was burgers, broasted chicken. They sell their own homemade pizzas. They sell ice cream they have a soft serve ice cream machine for ice cream cones. I had the Benny Burger medium rare it was cooked perfectly flame broiled toasted buttered bun. I also had the flat french fries which were seasoned and super crispy I would recommend them. Great service great time I’ll be back.

Great place for Bingo, food, music and just general hang out.gets pretty packed her during Daturday bingo and thwy play 11 games of bingo. Ranges between $1_$2 cards depending gonna the bingo. Win big $$ my first time playing and its grand. Service is great, find is awesome and prices aren’t bad. Close to the Willow river State park. Give it a try. 🙂

We found Carbone’s by accident, just moving to wis. We were happy to find such a well run Carbone’s. Crystal treated us so well, we will be back often. Food was as good as it gets.

Love the pizza and atmosphere. Wait staff was good. Had to subtract 2 stars because when we got the bill there was a “service fee of 3.7 percent”. No explanation of what it was for. No reference to a credit card fee. (We paid cash). On the way out we grabbed a menu and saw at the bottom of the menu that a “maintenance fee is added”. This stuff drive me nuts. Roll it into the price or exclude it from the start.

Easy drive from Stillwater to Burkhard, a small town containing the Willow River Saloon/Carbonies, a fun place to have a beverage as well as bar snacks or go all in for pizza, pasta and or burgers. The service is great. Go and enjoy.

Fantastic service!! I had a cheeseburger and fries that were average bar fare. My husband had a Philly cheese steak that he thought was better than the norm. After our food arrived, we noticed a lot of people eating pizza. Our waitress told us pizza is what they’re known for. So, we also ordered a pizza. Yup… That’s the draw, other than the wonderful service and great atmosphere! Our pizza was very yummy. Plenty of cheese and other toppings. I found it was also good the next day when I pulled a slice out of the fridge. the size of this place is deceiving when you look at it from the outside. It’s much bigger than it looks and can accommodate many people. Don’t hesitate to stop in… I’d go with the pizza as my first choice of food!!!

I have to edit this review because today something really kind-hearted happened. I came by planning to get a drink but instead I made some new friends unexpectedly. Then I locked my keys in my Firebird.
I guess the police don’t help with this and the tow company wanted so much money that I would have missed rent. They wanted over 300 bucks. But then the Willow River people came out with some duct tape and a coat hanger and they managed to bust me into my car. Legendary! I was already loyal to this place…. Now I’d take a bullet for it. Thanks guys! You got me into my Birdie. Absolute epic Legends here.
A truly special and memorable saloon. A couple months ago I was here and something unforgettable happened.. I absolutely love this bar. One of the best atmospheres and some of the kindest bartenders you’ll find this side of Wisconsin. Better than anything you find in Minnesota.

The hospitality, local presence of the community showed just what this place offers, not to mention the duck machine. For a buck, you get a duck.
My cousin from New Richmond took me here to show me some of the local cuisine. At first I settled on a chicken sandwich.
Appalled, my cousin demanded I try a hoagie. I did.
I am SO SO SO IMPRESSED!!!
From service, to staff, and the food. Great portions, you won’t go hungry, get the fried chicken 1/4, or a 3 meat hoagie. If you get the hoagie – don’t remove anything, it will destroy the flavor and experience you get from here.
