This place has the best burgers in Hartselle; no kidding. The fried goodness of these old fashioned Slugburgers and fresh fries changes your perspective on American cuisine forever. You MUST get it ‘all the way,’ with ketchup, mustard, and a huge blanket of diced onions. Pair it with a old-fashioned coke, fries, and a sprinkle of their spicy pepper seasoning, and you have tasted firsthand the best burger in town.
You will never regret eating here.

it used to be wonderful by having excellent burgers and sweet tea.we went there recently and got our ‘nostalgic’ sweet tea and it tasted so old it was disappointing. the burgers and hotdogs taste generic and have nothing to talk about. i would give a one star but i have to say, you guys do a wonderful job keeping the dust off your antiques in the restaurant.

Willie Burgers is one of few examples of a very small southern style called the “slug burger”. It’s a wonderful blend of meat and bread, deep fried. Anytime I go in I sit at the counter, get a bottle of Coke, a large order of fries and a double cheeseburger “cremated” which is having it double fried and actually helps it not be as greasy. I definitely recommend going and trying a Willie Burger!

This was without doubt the grossest food my wife and I have ever eaten. Make sure your toilet is still under warranty before coming here. The burgers are pre-cooked before you order, then reheated in oil of unknown vintage. If you want heart disease and bacon hasn’t done the trick, try this.

Great burgers! Many of these local fried hamburger joints have made their patties very small to save money. Not this place. They have normal sized patties and they’re great.

Price was good less than 8 bucks for a large meal but frys were cooked but still soft and so was the burger. Burgers are precooked and then fried warm to serve and the frys are real potatoes and good flavor but not crispy.

If you have always wanted to feel your cholesterol rise while eating your meal, then this is the place for you.
Disclaimer : I grew up on this place and I love all that is has to offer.
This is a small town treat. It is an example of all that makes the south great boxed into 300 square feet of downtown real estate. The staff is friendly. The food is… eatable. The prices are fair, amd the experience is unforgettable.
If you get your order to go, the white paper bag will be translucent by the time you arive at your destination. The grease from the burgers will have soaked thru the wrapper, then thru the bag, and finally, in to your passenger seat.
The restaurant does not accept any form of debit or credit, so bring cash and please tip the staff.

There is no other burger. This is it. Penns doesn’t hold a candle to this. Don’t listen to the bad reviews. When a REAL MAN walks up to the bar and consumes a burger women weep children cheer and lesser men envy him for the completion of the highest honor a man can eat. If you take a girl to this restaurant and she not only eats her whole burger, keep her. If this girl goes back with you, marry her. This is the place where my grandfather, the baddest dude to ever live, ate his burgers. If you can’t handle a deep fried burger than you don’t deserve to sit at that bar. Respect this “burger joint” and support one of the last hometown burger joints around that still makes the burgers just as artery clogging, grease dripping, deliciously Devine as you may ever find.
