Super pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and great food. Meat and three like Mother used to make. Great place to stop for food on Saturday game days. Limited hours at the moment, but they are expanding. Looking forward to our next visit.

I was told I wouldn’t be disappointed, but I really was. I ordered a little bit of everything, and honestly, I’m most disappointed in myself for not checking the bag before I left. I ordered black-eyed peas, mac and cheese, green beans, creamed corn, collard greens, sweet potato crunch, and chicken.
I didn’t receive the collard greens, the “creamed corn” was just canned kernel corn, the sweet potatoes were plain sweet potatoes (not the crunch I expected), and the mac and cheese was dry. People have been raving about this place, but I didn’t enjoy it.

Writing this review as I’m still sitting here an hour later waiting for my food. It’s going on 1hr and 10 minutes and I’ve watched family friends, and customers who ordered AFTER me come & go. I love supporting black businesses but not under these circumstances. I called in before I came and asked how’s the food prepared, is it cook to order, or is it prepared and sitting on a hot bar. The reply from Daniya or something along the terms were “it’s already ready” . I drove 35 minutes to patronize this business as there are 50+ black business in the surrounding area within the same radius that I could’ve patronized. I chose them, now it’s starting to feel like regret. I honestly can care less if the food is good at this point because waiting a hour is completely insane after being mislead that the food is already prepared. Cool, I appreciate fresh food, but being told 20 minutes on an order I’ve waited over an hour for is insane. Communication is terrible, I seen customers whom dined in and arrived the same time as me come and go as I’ve been sitting here. This is just completely unacceptable. Let’s see if we will get comped for our EXTRA wait time. I highly doubt it, but I’ll update my review if we are.

First time eating here and it was delicious! They really know how to season the food! The owner and a few other employees stopped by to chat with us and see if we needed anything. Great hospitality! I’m born n raised southern. Today I ordered broccoli casserole. squash casserole. rice n gravy Cole slaw and fried chicken. The food was not at all good. the Cole slaw had so much vinegar in it I made a face and didn’t eat more. the broccoli casserole was disgusting. in some kind of brown sauce and zero cheese. the squash was slightly better. the biscuit had an extreme after taste that was chemical. THEY CHARGED ME 20 BUCKS FOR THIS HIDEOUS FOOD
