Went to play pool, they made me go to the smoking area, I do not smoke and never have, that was so thick and unventilated that you get nausea after only 5 minutes, air so thick it looks like a dense foggy morning, all because they said the poker players needed the non smoking section of the building. After 38 minutes of being there, noticed they unlocked the non smoking side pool tables and let people play on them. There was plenty of room for the poker players at the bar area, and showing that they had their privileged people playing on the non-smoking pool tables. They are even breaking Virginia law by not having no smoking/ smoking signs designating the different sides of the building. Every time you open the door to the smoking side, the non-smoking side gets hit by a wave of smoke that lingers and I routinely heard and saw people coughing when someone opened that door. This is a horrible place, not legal, and surprised it’s been allowed to operate like this for as long as it has.
The law as written:
D. The proprietor of any restaurant shall:
1. Post signs stating “No Smoking” or containing the international “No Smoking” symbol, consisting of a pictorial representation of a burning cigarette enclosed in a red circle with a bar across it, clearly and conspicuously in every restaurant where smoking is prohibited in accordance with this section;
I have never been anywhere that made me literally vomit from just how thick the cigarette smoke is, how is this place still open?

I’ve been here two times and both were really fun. The bartender and other staff are friendly, funny, and helpful. On New Years they gave out complimentary champagne at midnight. The drinks are cheaper than most places. The pool table is coin operated and they have darts. The food is what you would expect from a dive bar and is extremely affordable. I plan on taking a lot of my friends here.

It was a little crowded, but everyone was so nice. I had a lot of fun. There was karaoke that night, and they have those slot machines if you are interested in there. There are also two bars, a smoking side and a non-smoking side.

New to this establishment, industry guy, happy they are open late when I get off my bar shift to unwind with a beer and some food. Casual, locals, and working folks vibe. Smoke friendly on one side dedicated to smokers, the other non smoking and outdoor section too. They have dart boards, pool tables, card nights … new owner seems to be making a huge effort to refresh the place and attract new customers. Looks like new televisions coming too. Mostly beer, and easy drink crowd, shots and shooters. Comfort food menu, hits the spot late at night with beverages. Worth checking out when in Chester.

Was down there recently, and I had to see what changed after almost a year. I loved to see Mom and Daughter still tag teaming. They are so sweet and handle the Crowed well. Drinks were spot on like they could read my dates mind on what mixed drink she wanted. Thank you, Mom .Food is still the same dive food ,was surprised by the tuna ,it was good . Not recommend for children or teens. Bathrooms need updating.

Spent a significant part of New Year’s Eve there with my girlfriend. Its a local bar/restaurant with smoking side that includes pool tables, dart boards, bar area and tables and chairs along with gambling machines and a couple of HUGE SMOKE EATERS! I enjoyed a cigar with my beverage while my girlfriend had a cig or two….while we played pool.
The other side of the restaurant is non-smoking with a larger version of the smoking side! Live music that night that was nice to listen too!
A lot of locals are regular patrons and it was quiet an interesting group….the food was good and the environment enjoyable….if you enjoy a vape, cigar or cigarette with your beverages this is the place in Chester VA!!
I understand its under new management and I look forward to returning in the near future.

Walked in late about 120, waited politely for some service which took about15 mins only too be told I missed last call. I told the bar tender nicely I had been standing there since last call she shrugged her shoulders and said I can’t help you. I’ve spent plenty money here and tip very well, won’t return and will tell my friends to go up the road to murphys law

Great little bar with a smoking section separate from the non smoking area. Pool tables in both areas, dart boards on the non smoking section. Mixed crowed with some people in their 20’s,30’s, and 40’s in the bat when I was there. Food is good and really rea probably priced. They also have karaoke and free poker games on certain nights of the week. All and all its a great bar. Would have given them a 5* if the smoking section didn’t get so overwhelming on the weekend nights. I am a smoker but sometimes it can be a little much.
