I passed through Valley City in October 2025 and the bakery quickly caught my eye. There was a full table of locals enjoying their Saturday meet up and plenty of doughnuts to try! I loved the Maple Bavarian cream filled doughnut the best! My sour cream old fashioned wasn’t as sweet or flavorful as I wanted.

I had the privilege of stopping in Valley City for a few days and absolutely HAD to try this quaint little bakery. Clearly a local favorite and I can see (and taste) why. So many bussin donut flavors and other tasty treats (mini pies, muffins…). And the pumpkin spice donut? AhhhMazing!!

Very excellent baked goods and a great variety. It’s in such a historic downtown building too. It’s really a beautiful spot. I had a very yummy sour cream donut. My mom had soup and a sandwich. The service isn’t very friendly otherwise a great stop.

WPB serves lunch Tuesday through Friday. While there is only one choice, it changes everyday and is generally good. Often, they serve Knoephla soup on Thursdays which is very popular, however their egg salad sandwiches are also very good. Also tough to not leave without picking up one of their fritters.

I hate leaving bad reviews to small businesses.But to be honest that’s the worst donuts I ever eat in my life nearly.They literally taste like the donuts at Walmart.I came early in the morning.And the donuts were stale the bread had a hard stale texture to it.I’ve had gas station donuts that tasted better.I wouldn’t recommend to anyone that is used to quality.

From my 6 year old. They are soooo good and they look pretty.
I love that they have other flavors of fritters because I do not like the traditional apple. The texture is great and taste is good. My only complaint is I think they are a bit on the sweet side so I don’t get them to often. But I love the huge variety that we can’t find elsewhere. A true gem in valley city for sure. Not only do they sell donuts but they sell good quality aprons and tea towels along with many other items.
