Pathetic BBQ served up in a dilapidated filthy shack!
It only gets worse. For $8.75 you will get far more of their stringy tasteless beef, unremarkable beans and BBQ sauce than you would be willing to eat. I thought that earlier in life I had eaten the worst BBQ in Oklahoma. Tragically, I was wrong. The place is terrible!
The state tourism and the prevalent in your state articles have been pumping out B.S.
I won’t make you suffer through any more descriptions of the food; it is not worth the time. But I will finish with this thought. Based on the reviews I have read, that praise the “Succulent”,” Indescribably Delicious” BBQ at Wild Horse Mountain, I am now convinced that Methamphetamine use in Oklahoma is far worse than I had imagined!

I rated this higher than I normally would. The food is OK. Service is very good. It’s a local eatery. This isn’t a five-star restaurant, but it doesn’t pretend to be. They have good ribs and decent barbecue. I didn’t like the desserts and neither did my wife. however for a casual dining experience in a peaceful environment this is a nice place.

Beef goes good with bean on top. Ribs is heavenly. Next time I will only get ribs.

We haven’t eaten at Wild Horse in years and decided to stop last Saturday (May 11) for lunch on our way to Poteau. The restaurant is popular with the locals and was busy. I ordered the two meat dinner with medium sauce and my wife the chopped brisket sandwich. The pork rib was a pork chop with a bone attached which was OK but not flavorful. The brisket was more like thinly sliced roast beef but plentiful. The beans were tasty and spicy. My wife was wishing she had ordered the sauce on the side as the buns on the sandwich were soggy.

I have been going to Wild Horse Mountain for 30 years. I go whenever I am within 100 miles. It is still as delicious as when I was a kid. I like to get the spicy sauce because I like a little kick. The people I know that don’t like it is the people that like super sweet BBQ sauce.

No frills BBQ place, they do not serve alcohol so be mindful,
The food however is really darn good, I got the pulled pork plate with beans and sweet tea and my co worker got the ribs which were huge the sauce was the best part for both dishes,

This is the BEST BBQ we have tasted, hands down. The food was delicious, hot and moist, the pickles were super crunchy and juicy, just delicious. The owner’s were super-accomodating, even visited with us, what a great experience, we will definitely be return visitors! Kudos to the chefs on that smoked chicken, TO-DIE-FOR!!

You know when you go to a rustic place with a rustic history, you would expect a rustic experience. Well, it did nog cut the Mustard on that front. Something was laking, like a neglet of the place that probably once was a great place to visit and eat some great BBQ. Unfortunately it was just not there. The Ribs were excellent dont get me wrong. They fell off the bone. However, the shredded beef underneath was a very dry disapointment that was very hard to swallow without the beverage that was orovided. The beans were loaded with a more than ample amount of sugar which were just a version of a pork ‘n and bean diëte. I wish this place can do bettet, and I’m sure they can.
